evo cooler
After reading a bunch of the E55 threads, it appears the Evo cooling mod is a good one. Plus I live where it is hot.
I have decided to buy one...I think...
Has anyone else installed one yet on their cls55 or 500

You Will be the First !
idrivatitleist - There should not be any issues using the EVO Cooling Mod. on the CLS55. All the performance enhancing and durability enhancing characteristics of this Mod. will transfer over to the CLS55. Great choice on your part, and good luck. - Bob

What is the cost for this mod and what kind of performance gains for this mod?

I wouldn't explain it very well start with this thread link

We know heat is an issue in these motors. IMO, Proven heat removal would be worth its weight in gold. Gaining HP and Torque are a huge bonus

With over 3 months of prototype road and dyno testing with extraordinary results, the evosport Kompressor Cooling Package is a MUST on every CLS55 Kompressor.
Kompressor Cooling Package includes:
- Secondary heat exchanger increases total system capacity by 65%
- Heavy Duty water pump with 600% increase in flow
- External overflow reservoir
- evosport Phenolic Spacer Kit
- Latest technology Kevlar hoses and AN fittings for simple and leak free installation
Gains (CA 91 Octane):
- 70-80F degrees reduction in Air Charge Temperatures (ACT)
- 15-20 HP gain over evolution 2 Power Package (evolution 1 or 2 Packages NOT required)
- Increased cooling ability and capacity to help mitigate heat soaking
- Can be easily uninstalled
NOTE: This package does NOT require you have our evolution 1 or 2 Power Packages. It can be installed alone, and gains can be realized on a stock vehicle. Mercedes-Benz E55 Kompressor shown below.

I consider those impressive results.
What I like is you are not just adding hp someway... but doing it by bring the temp down. something needed anyway.
What are your thoughts?

Hoping it doesn't really take the full 9 hours to install

Congrats on the install! Let us know what you think, does it help at all? I want this cooling upgrade but I am still a little weary what with all the Evosport drama from the last couple weeks.

So what was the turn key cost for this upgrade, parts and labor?
I'm seriously thinking about doing this one as soon as the car comes in at the end of the month..

The evosport website lists the kit for $2,895 (i think) Tell them you saw a special price offered for mbworld members
The installation:
I bought the kit, had it shipped to me. Took the installation instructions out of the box and over to the tech that was going to install it with me. Having not seen it done he/we passed on the install. I called evosport, drove the car 500 miles to LA and had them do the install.
Make sure and have the installation done by a Professional!!!!!
Figure about 15 hours of shop time for your installer.

This mod requires proper installation, it's that simple.
I am convinced that the I/C cooling capacity has been greatly increased.
We are going to run some temp test in the next few days on the inlet and outlets for comparison.

Idriveatitleist,
Did you ever have the intake temps measured to see what the effect of the coolig kit is?
What are your thoughts on the Evosport kit now that you have been living with it for a bit? Would you recommend this kit?

The tech was impressed with the increased cooling capacity and temps entering the intercooler. Temps were running close to ambient returning into supercharger. I live where it is very hot in the summer. It has been a couple of months. It was very hot at the time, test conditions were not in the favor of the cooler. It came thru with flying colors and praise from the tech. This tech has had experience with supercharging and cooling systems from the race track. (built race motors) He is all too familiar with heat soak, cooling capacity, etc. He is the tech who installed the Kleeman Pulley on the car.
He did not take temps prior to install. Wish I would have. HOWEVER, temps are as advertised. Cooler temps, more ponies
Quality of the parts: Excellent, by everyone's inspection and performance.
I am VERY happy with it. Car had about 1500 miles at install. Turned 8.000 on the way home tonight.
Has Been Flawless.
I still say... it's all about the install. Done right it's true love. Done wrong... perhaps reason to go on a shooting spree
If I lived in wisconson.... but anywhere heat could be an issue...
I would buy this Mod all over again
