I love the car but!!!!!!
I have been experiencing some difficulties with my CLS front seats. The seats are generating all sorts of strange, cheap noices. I suppose it's completely true about Mercedes quality problems. The entire understructure for the passenger seat will be replaced, and the bolsters in the front passenger seat will also be replaced. I wouldn't expect this problem in a 15,000 car. I really hope that Mercedes gets their act together or this will be my last one.

Do you have the dynamic seat option? What exactly is the problem you are experiencing as a "cheap noise" is a bit vague. Since both front seats are problematic, I'm wondering if you have had your car longer than others on the board and this is something that may occure.

i've got the dynamic seats in my e55, and i notice that after someone's been in the passenger seat, the next time or two that i drive somewhere alone, the seat will occasionally make a high-pitched whistling sound, like when you squeeze a balloon's mouth while letting the air out. very odd, but it doesn't seem like the type of thing that i'd want to go have some dealer rip the seat apart over. at least, not at this point.
is that something others have experienced, or is my car's seat unique in this regard?

Clarification on Seat problem
Allow me to be more specific. First, I don't have the Dynamic seats, and my car only has 2000 miles. This seat problem has been ongoing since I purchased the car, and the problems are multifold. First, the seat cushion and lower back portion are basically loose and flimsy and make clicking and popping noises when moving around in the seat, or when accelerating or decelerating at even very moderate speeds. The basic intergrity of the seats is seriously compromised and in fact the dealer completely agreed that it is a defect in the manufacturing process. Secondly, the front passenger seat side bolsters are also defective. Any body motion against these bolsters generates an awful screaching sound. The dealer feels that it's likely due to insufficient or defective padding in the bolsters. I hope this provides some clarification.

How in the hell does something like this get out of the factory. You're right, 15K cars don't have this problem.
Remember the old MB advertising slogan? - "Engineered like no other car in the world".

I have noticed odd noises when I have driven my dads CLS. I figured it might just be because I am a big guy (210lbs).
However I have never have heard or felt anything odd in my SL.
In comparsion to my E class, the CLS's seats do seem to be of cheaper quality.
I notice that from the drivers seat I can see the hoses connected to the control at the base of the passenger seat. I know thats trivial, but I dont think you should see wires/hoses on the inside of a 75k car.

$15K for a CLS55 and you're complaining about the seats??!!
On a more serious note, if its not a mechanical problem, I would not worry all that much...my seats are fine.
