First Observations
The car drives like its on rails. The ride is smooth yet firm and responsive. The steering is quick, and is very race car like. It firms up at high speeds and in corners and light for city driving. I love it. Its very M5 like in its suspension setup ans steering setup and feels more confident than the new M5 I drove.
The stopping power from the 2 piece rotors is great and SBC is very smooth, firm, and quite impressive, more so than my E55. Secondly, the car is very quiet for having such little rubber on the massive 19" AMG wheels.
The other interesting fact is that the same guy that built my E55 engine is the same guy that built my CLS55 engine. Just a bonus for me since I havent had a single problem with the E55 engine or what have you.
The Alcantra steering wheel is very nice and feels great. Its soft, comfortable, and the steering wheel doesnt get hot like it does with leather.
Now the rear fender, to be honest with you, the fenders are just a tad bit wider than that of the CLS 55 without AMG Performance Package. Maybe a few millimeteres wider, but they look great. I will try and measure them once I come back from Canada and India.
Also, the LSD is fantastic. Tire spin is minimized and power delivery is great. Just a winning combination with the suspension, steering, and braking setup.
