...and in the SLK. I guess they decided not to put it into the CLS since this car has a more "elegant" background - and very much wood! Imagine all those surfaces in carbon - I don't know...

Oh, exactly! I'm glad that they didn't do it in the CLS 030 -- but I just wanted confirmation.
I'm just not a fan of CF as trim - I'd rather have wood or leather - that's why (well, part of the reason why) I'm taking European Delivery on SL55's and SLK55's with the 030 package because I want them to make a pit stop at AMG Manufaktur to replace the CF with wood and leather.
I almost like the CF trim in the Maybach 57S - almost - but the wood that can be used in a Maybach IMO would just look and fit-in so much better in the Maybach than the CF trim does.

When you get some time, can you please stand next to the driver or passenger front door facing rearward and take a pic of the rear quarter area of the car? I am not seeing a difference in the rear flare and it cant just be rolled because my car is a non 030 car and it has rolled fenders all around as stock.

If you don't mind my asking, why an SL55 vs. an SL65?

I've been tempted by the SL65, and the CL65. I just really like the SL55 for a folding-hardtop GT, run into town, take an overnight or weekend trip car. It is just so balanced, so perfect a car to me in those roles (and I want to do these new ones up right). The SL65 is just a little bit different than that - a little more luxo-cruiser, and a little more beast. I have alot of other cars that are similar to me to the SL65...but not really any that are like the SL55.
I do believe that I am definately going to do the biturbo V12 in a new S65. I think that that car is going to fill my big, luxury, monster AMG MBZ sedan niche -- which hearsay has it is now filled by the E55. There was a rumour that the niche was going to be filled with an EV12 -- but that fell through, as hearsay has it.
I may end up with an SL65 - and I haven't driven the new one - it could be love at first bite....

VelocitE55 - Personally I can not tell the difference, either, in the rear fenders and they are all rolled as yours are.

ClayJ - No CF trim, just the Wood Trim that all CLS cars come with.

FloridaE55 - I am a lot happier now! It sure would have been nice if MB would have listed the LSD on the window sticker, and most of this thread would have been avoided.

traumadoc - I am not sure what the difference is in the rear fenders myself. It sure is not obvious!

benzondubz - Sorry about the delay in posting the Pics.

Schiznick - Thank you for the advice on breaking-in the LSD and changing the LSD Fluid. I certainly will follow your recommendations.

Tony007 - Good idea about calling the MB Parts Dept at the dealer and see what parts for the Diff. are listed for the CLS55-030.

Again - An Awesome Awesome Car - Bob

Do this : Jack the car up so that both rear wheels are off the ground. With the brake off and the transmission in neutral, rotate one of the rear wheels by hand. If the other rear wheel rotates in the opposite direction, you have an open differential.

If you are serious about K3 mods, let us know before and after dyno/quarter mile numbers, please. So far, nobody has chimed in on K3 times.

The window stickers are made by MBUSA and the persons compiling them obviously couldn't spell and probably didn't know what an "LSD" was. I was lucky enough to not pay a Gas guzzler tax on my C32 as somebody forgot to put it on the window sticker and MBUSA had to pay to the Fed's.

Exclamation Wow!!

amgplayer - For such an important document it would be to MBUSA's best interests to treat the production of this document with more skilled attention than they are apparently doing at this time. - Bob

Congrats on the new CLS55 w/030 option. My wife's CLS55 w/030 option comes in tomorrow and same exterior color but interior is charcoal. Have fun.

adx - Congrats to you! You are going to love the way the CLS55 - 030 handles, and how well it rides, even on the "Sport" setting. Very pointable and nuetral handling, and add this to the HP, Torque, and Luxury this thing has and it does not get any better! About the Exhaust Note, WOW!!! :p It sounds awesome, you are going to find it very hard to keep your foot out of the throttle.

What can I say, THIS IS AN AWESOME COMBINATION!!! - Bob
