I found that if I just let it dry for like a day, it doesn't splatter.

mon-thur i dont really drive the car that much...maybe i'll wash it thursday in the late afternoon and apply the tire shine and leave it overnight for the weekend

na its not by default...you have to punch in some buttons for a screen to come then select it. Do a search on it and you will find it. When you turn on the car the screen shows it for like 2 seconds then switches to the comand caution screen

AMG STARTUP SCREEN (3-5-7 trick)
AMG startup screen setup instructions
(see below for picture)
A. Turn on the COMAND and select CD
B. Press and hold the "5" first then press and hold "3" and "7" -- all at the same time for about three seconds
C. This opens a menu with keyboard choices. Scroll down to the AMG and select
D. Press "Back" to the main menu
E. Turn off the COMAND
F. Turn off your car for at least five minutes, so that the change takes effect
(You may have to do these steps several times. It took me two times.)

Of course, now I'm on board for killing that silly caution screen...It drives me
. But it's definitely better than the Lexus/Toyota that require you to acknowledge their lawyer screens...
