030 Black Stallion Finally Arrives

I finally took delivery of my 06 CLS55 on Monday...after two months of waiting and having to drive the CLS500 around. Man was she different. Anyways, here are some pics of her. She's still due for the PermaPlate and the Brabus 3-piece Monoblock Vs in 19s...but maybe I'll keep those two piece
AMGs on for a while yet, eh?

I'm also going to look into the Renntech, Brabus, and Kleeman K1 packages...I think I need to prepare for the coming of the 63 (first on waiting list...but don't think will want it after all...I like the possibilities of the 55 so much more!)

So I finally get to stop drooling over all of yours, and enjoy mine!!!!!

Cheers...
BTW, I'm in the SF Bay Area, so if there are any other 55 owners out there wanting to get together, shoot the sh*t, or get a club drive/race experience going, let me know..I run one for Porsche GT2s and Turbos out of Vegas as well...Just a thought.

Siswati..hey thanks man...I know you love it! Hey, I'm starting to think that we're related somehow...I also have a dark grey 05 350Z that I just gave to my little brother...but man, this is strange, eh?

Bipasha493...yeah..I had to reprogram the comand to even show that AMG screen, it originally had the Benz star...but yeah, real quick on the trigger finger just to get it...fun though...what the heck, right?

clsamg...like I said...I really like those rims...maybe after I lower the car a bit more, they will really look awesome...but I just bought the Brabus and really like the looks of them as well...check them out here http://www.brabus.de/box/homee.htm...select wheels and then select the CLS model and the Monoblock V Multipiece wheel...they will show you the wheels on a silver CLS...looks great...and vous ette de Paris non? Ou habittez vous? J'ai une maison au 8eme et ma tante habitte au quartier chinoise, 13eme, n'est ce pas? Enchantez mon frere...

Congrats to your new beast. And hey its a beautiful car.

I'm also going to look into the Renntech, Brabus, and Kleeman K1 packages...I think I need to prepare for the coming of the 63 (first on waiting list...but don't think will want it after all...I like the possibilities of the 55 so much more!)

spinsonic...I am usually in North San Jose, but I have homes in the Evergreen area as well...give me a call if you want to get together and shoot the sh*t...I'll pm you my info..

thanks guys for your input...it's because of your cars and these threads that I have had to go out and upgrade...Thanks all for the inspiration!!! Cheers...

Adam...I have talked to you in the past few weeks...I have asked about the wheel adapters for the Brabus wheels...also the lowering...I will still look you up but I'm getting the car lowered through StarDiag...I'd rather have it that way..especially since I have the AMG upgraded control arms on the 030 package...

Thanks guys

Permaplate? You mean dealer profit-gravy? I hope you're not paying very much for it. A self application of $30 worth of Zaino will last forever in the Bay Area. My friends can't believe my car is 2 years old now, it still looks showroom floor hot.

Really? Zaino? Where can I find the stuff? Can I cancel with the dealer? I thought that it was the real deal they were selling and that because of the dealer receipt, I can get a better value for my car. Actually, I did for the CLS500 I gave back to them. I bought the thing 2 months ago and put the permaplate on it, as well as the tire and wheel hazard plan, and they gave much retail on it when I gave the car back to them and picked up the 55.

Come to think of it, I think they gave me a deal on my car because I was buying the 55 from them anyways...oh well, let me call to see if I can cancel. I don't think they will refund me the money or anything...damn, wish I knew...zaino huh...damn...thanks guys, again...

Yeah, definitely Zaino. I'm sure there are other good choices too, but I'm a Zaino devotee.

Regarding Permaplate, basically anything the dealer tries to sell you after you've agreed to a price on the car is designed to squeeze more profit out of you, and is not necessarily in your best interest or in the interest of your car. My policy is that the less the dealership touches the skin of my car, the better, especially for a dark color like black that can swirl easily. This means no permaplate, no dealer car washes (even free ones).

Zaino can only be ordered from the Zaino Brothers. Not kidding. Search google for it. Either apply it yourself or pay someone (who knows what they're doing of course) to apply it.

No, not really. You'll want to clay a little bit later in your car's life when you've got some harder bits of dirt that have caked on over time that can't be removed by regular wool-mitt washing. If your car is brand new, you probably won't have any build-up to remove really.

highly recommend it

I used Zaino's kit on my e320 and what a shine. By far the best wax I have ever found. I don't remember which kit i bought but I know it had the fast drying solution so I can reapply coat after coat.

Really good product!!!!

Technically, it is not a wax. It's synthetic, which is what gives it my favorite property, longevity. The stuff stays on your car forever.

I think the last time I actually Zaino'ed my car, but it was more than 6 months ago. Even now, all I need to do is a quick wash to get dirt off the Zaino layer and it looks incredible again. Although for me it's probably about time to strip, clay, and reapply.
