Replace my CLS55 with a 997 Turbo?

People what's your opinion on this?

I currently have 3 cars and I do not plan on getting a 4th, I just ordered a ML63 to replace my LR3 and I will be taking delivery on the 997 Turbo in the next month or so but I haven't figure out whether to let go of the CLK500 ragtop or the CLS55. Ever since I took delivery of the CLS I loved it to death, it's the perfect car in my mind with speed to spare, room for people and the best styling in the whole MB product range. My wife loved the CLK to death also as she thinks the car is the perfect size for everyday driving and it is common enough here in vancouver that we can park it anywhere and not worry about the car.

The 997 Turbo is gonna replace one of these 2 but I have been losing sleep over which one to lose.

I am kinda leaning towards letting go of the CLS but the Turbo would not be as practical as the CLS and also I think it wouldn't upset my wife too much as she can keep the CLK.

get rid of the CLK ... jesus should not even be a tough decision.

Let the wifey get used to the CLS ... I'm sure she will love it even more. Just make her think it is HER car!

I have an idea for you, get rid of the CLS55 for the Turbo, and trade the wifes clk 500 in on a 550, more performance than the clk 55, plus the 7 speed and cool little paddles. Just a thought.

In financially sensible view point, sell the CLS55 , keep the CLK500 for relax shoppings. As financials are not sounded they are mattered in your case, I would keep the best cars in my garage, and the aged CLK500 is the one ought to go. You wife should feel more relax to go shopping with the ML than a CLK.

How about replacing the wife...j/k.. if the wife loves the clk keep her happy and get rid of the cls otherwise i say the cls.. 997 combo seems so much better it comes down to which one you love more the cls or the wife lol

I would loved to keep the CLS and the TT and my wife kinda likes driving the CLS too, but she loves convertibles so it's gonna be a hard sell to get ride of the CLK. I might have to live with the CLK in the garage for a while until the lease is up next year and maybe replace it with a AMG SLK or CLK.

not an even choice

CLS all the way, I used to love the old model CLK430 i thought it one of their best looking cars. When they went to the new style they lost a fan. Still a great car but can't compare to the cls IMO

Actually the best all around answer would be to ditch the CLS and CLK and get a SL65

Definitely trade the CLK, the CLS is a fun car. This is coming from a guy who's owned 1 for less than 24 hours.

Well depends on what they want ... the SL65 is a tank ... and my car already beat a Renntech stage 1 SL65. Of course the SL65 is much more comfortable.

Replacing the CLK with a SL55 did cross my mind b4 the Turbo came into the picture. I didn't consider the 65s because in my mind if I were to pay that kinda of money for a Merc I might as well get a Ferrari or Lambo instead.

I am not really a car modder so I only consider cars based on the stock performances from the factory, I know how good Renntech-ed or Kleemann-ed cars are from you guys but it's not really my cup of tea.

Dinko, I am super sure you are gonna love every second in the CLS, I know I did and in my mind it's is the perfect car out there right now which makes it even harder if I were to part way with it.

When I ordered the ML63, I was hoping it's gonna help me get over the CLS but some how I don't think it's gonna work. I will need to find a way to convince the Mrs. to part with the CLK and I suspect I might need to visit a Jewelery store just to have any chance My 4 yr old didn't help the matter by saying he LOVES the convertible.

On a side note, this morning I got a call from my Porsche salesman, he told me :

"Hey I am deliverying a 997 Turbo to your house right now, be there in 10 minutes"

It got me all confused and excited, I was thinking yeah baby my car is here finally but I also remember I haven't pay for the car yet, what's going on here.

When he got here I didn't see a Turbo in the driveway and my face is all puzzled but he got this stupid grin on his face and took out a 1:43 997 Turbo model from his pocket and that was THE 997 Turbo he was talking about. Man I have been had by him so badly.

I don't know what your problem is ... is it because your a kleemann customer???

I think I have been an upfront member of this community. No need for your attitude.

My run with the SL65 was 0-120mph pull.

Btw my car just had its valve body (tranny) replaced and the SL65 had just gotten its intecooler pump replaced.
