anyone bent their stock 19" wheels?

Dealer just called to tell me that 3 of my wheels are bent.. I do 90% of my driving in the city where the roads are not the best to say the least. But damn 3 wheels in 3k miles is a lil weird.. They are also convinced its from multiple incidents. Anyone else bent their wheels? I thought stock amg rims where pretty strong. I have had all types of wheels in the past 18-20 and can honestly say I don't remember hitting the amg's that hard. They are replacing one and repairing the other two.

The very first CLS55 I saw was in NYC and the owner was complaining to me that he bent a rim the second day he had the car (I think he said it was on 6th Ave). Sure enough it had the spare tire/wheel on it. You're going to ruin plenty of 19's in the city unless you really baby it around town and watch the potholes, its the general rule when you go above 18's. My advice is to keep it out of sport mode and stay careful.

Both my front 19" are slightly bent. Nothing that a good rebalancing can fix.

On my old 500 I had bent all four after a year - and those where 18". Took them to MB Manhattan and had them balanced for free.

So yea, this city wrecks wheels.

BTW Deniska, who is your dealer?

P.S. Don't drive on Maddisson Ave.

Well I just bent one of my 20" Vellano yesterday, thanks to a nice offset in pavement height at the edge of a construction area. I was going pretty fast when I hit it, only seems to have damaged the inner lip of the rear passenger wheel. Needless to say I was/am really pissed off, but I guess this is unavoidable unless you have 18" diameter wheels.

It was losing air (triggered the pressure monitor warning) and also was rubbing. I took off the wheel and used a big hammer to reduce the bend a bit, this seems to have sealed the air leak and eliminated the rubbing. I'm driving it gently right now but not venturing too far from home, of course it isn't being driven aggressively around corners either.

The wheels are 3 piece construction. I'm hoping Vellano can send me a new inner rim and replacement bolts and I can have a local shop reconstruct it with the new piece. Otherwise I may end buying a whole new wheel. I've emailed Wheelautohaus where I bought them, of course they and everyone else is closed for the holiday weekend
