Doh!!
I literally missed the formal release date by 6 days!!
My CLS 63 entered production on Aug 24 2006.
I desperately wanted the 030 Performance Pkg. however it was "not available for order" on my date of production; additionally, no date was scheduled for availability, this was around late July 2006.
Now, that they have been formally announced... are they ready for production??? I wonder.
Oh well, it gives me another reason to puchase another AMG model in the future and I will get the 030 package next time around.

No point in buying the car if the 030 car is indeed available.
Your sales person should have researched the issumore completely!

the 030 package is NOW available though there was a brief hiatus in august when cars so ordered were delayed in production. if you had specifically ordered it i would have thought that your car would have been held out from production until this was available. at least that was my situation. i just drove a 63 and don't feel i'm losing anything in having sold my 55. the 63 is very smooth and very fast- somewhat like an m5, the higher rpm's bring out a greater level of performance.
