Come on guys...I told you that I had a good feeling that the City of Charlotte would take care of the damages....over $8,000 worth!!!

1) I provided evidence in the form of a six page report, included pictures with red arrows and police/accident reports from that particular road for the last three years to show there was previous problems/accidents/incidents that weren't tended to by the City...I made it easy for the City to SEE what happen as opposed to waiting for them to send someone out there to see the situation.
2) I was persistant...I called and called until I got to the right person
3) I was polite to them and their insurance adjuster
4) I tried to prove that the City was negligent

Brake caliper, Rotor, wheel, tire. Figure brake lines, needs a wheel alignment, and some suspension components replaced. Check out the other thread. The damage is pretty extensive, but could be taken care of in a day or two. 
At least the City is going to pay and not the owner. Now thats 1st class.

I was told by the Service Manager that since the vehicle was so new, some of the parts were not readily available...so that is why it took so long...

'when they raise taxes you will ultimately be paying to replace that wheel. I had a tree fall on my car and nearly crush it a few years back and that was the approach(defense) the city of Pasadena Ca used. I gave up and just had my insurance cover the damage. I tried to prove the tree was in need of trimming long before it split in half and landed on my car, they cited an "act of God". So you really should be happy with your outcome.

I got the check...it included 2 weeks of my lease payment for "loss of use" and $1,500 for depreciation...and of course all of the damages...

Ouuch man, sorry to hear your story, but I'm really happy to hear that the City took care of the damages. All of you guyz drive safely on constuction roads and try to be precautious all the time.
