Didn't watch the whole thing, shut it off after seeing that high time.
Fwiw, one of the German mags' (Auto Motor und Sport) Sweedish language version tested both and the Z06 was faster, not only straightline but also around a track. This article covers the highlights and has a link to the Svedish Auto Motor und Sport article, ya ya fer shure, ya ya bork bork bork!

No offense guys...but I know so many of us that are sick and tired of some of you that keep defending the new Z06's losses to poor driving, wether it be the driver or the shifting...Best mortoring has been around for years, they are professionals...end of story...

Point is that the C5 Z06, which weighed the same and had 100 fewer horsepower, ran mid 12's, so the new one is an 11 second car, and has been tested as such by several publications, both foreign (Auto Motor und Sport) and domestic (Car & Driver with at least two different test cars, Motor Trend; Automobile and Road & Track both ran 12.0), and there are plenty of videos out there of them in the 11s. Obviously, the driver in question botched it somehow on that first run, while the second is closer to ideal.

My point is so many of us are tired hearing the *****ing about why the Z06 lost or is slower then they believe...take it for what it is worth...the proof is in the video...I don't doubt it can do better...but NOT in this video.
Also, the Z06 is more difficult to get the rear tires to stick...the 911 can due to the AWD and heck, even my CLS63 will beat the Z06 off the line (I did on Saturday) unless the driver is PERFECT...I'd post the video but then I'm sure you'd ***** that the driver I raced couldn't shift either.

Proof of what? That the guy in the video couldn't drive the car as well as people in other publications have done? Yes. That the Z06 is always going to lose to a 997 Turbo? Hardly.
Which is exactly why those of us who've watched it, *and* seen these things run, *and* seen what they can do in other tests and videos, are saying that the car is capable of going much faster than this.
If you don't like this fact, and it is a fact, well, tough ****. And I really don't appreciate your taking this tone with me for pointing out this fact. If you can't handle fact-based discussions, I'd recommend that you find another place to spend your time.

Yes, the Z06 is difficult to launch. But have you ever launched a 480 horsepower AWD manual like the 997 TT? It's not exactly simple simon, dude...too much throttle and you'll slip the clutch and kill the launch. Too little and you'll bog it and kill the launch. So it's not like launching *either* of those cars perfectly is something a novice is going to pull off.
So again: what exactly is your point? This video settles it, 997 TT > Z06?? Um, well, I guess if you ignore all of the other comparisons where the Z06 came out on top in acceleration, trap times, and track times....

Think all the Z06 needs to beat the Turbo is AWD to effectively put the power down;
give it a good automatic transmission so there won't be anymore excuses for missed shifts/botched clutch launch;
while we are at it, might as well put the engine over the rear axle to inprove traction at rear;
Funny thing is that now it smells just like a tip-ed 997 Turbo!?!?!?!
