My NEW CLS55 AMG... finally
pics right after we got the car from teh dealer... I will have a large comparative review of the CLS55 against the CLS63/M5/M6/SL55 ... it was by far the most impressive one!
I had been looking for 6 months for a new one to come for sale, with just the right spec (absolutely every extra bar distronic and active seats) ... and as soon as it came for sale i snapped it!
on those pics the car is still wearing the dealer plates... now it has Neu ULM zoll plates, and soon it will have bulgarian ones !
Tomorrow i will upload pics with the winter alloys (18` AMGs) ....
Overall two quick comments:
It is sooo much more fun to drive than the CLS63!

If people are interested my car is almost run in now (2800km/h) so i raced a friends's M5 (he has 54000km on the clock) today.
50-170km/h run
CLS: manual mode 2nd gear, Airmatic Sport 2 setting
M5: m dynamic mode, SMG shift pattern 5, 2nd gear, edc (hardest setting)
he pulled on me from the start and remained roughly 2-3 car lenghts in front of me until we had to break quite hard.
0-160(ish) run..
CLS: Manual mode 1st gear, Airmatic Sport 2, ESP off
M5: NO LC, dsc off, SMG shift pattern 6, edc(hardest setting)
M5 messed up launch big time, lots of tyre smoke, i launched at around 1800rpm and got a good lead (about 6-8) meters, by 160ish he had caught up completely and we had to break

forgot to mention something ... i dont wont to brag but my car is unlike any other on this board... it is one of the very few AMGs to include independent ventilation and heating (by remote) ... teh car was special order and the above was installed by AMG Manufaktur (the division that deals with customers' unique cars)

2010 RRS ; BMW K1200R; 14 E350 ; 14 RRS on order
I also love the rubber-surround large bottle holder in the back seat. That's where I keep the large bottle of water.

CLS55 AMG
just checking guys, cause i get a bit paranoid about keeping my cars in good shape.
i only noticed it today, when i start the car from cold (its been in a 15c garage overnight) it idles at about 1400rpm, and slowly drops down to around 800rpm for about 45 seconds or so... if i slot into D it immediately drops down to 800rpm.
Also i hear a slight, i dunno know a humming noise
in the garage once the car has started up... its too quiet to hear outside, and once ive driven the car and come back to park it its gone. Anyone else experienced this?
and while im asking, my car has around 3200miles now, and ive started revving it quite a bit now, i hope i have passed the break in period by now?? i always wait for around 3/4miles driving , or the best part of 10 minutes before i push it... during those 10 minutes i dont rev above 3000-3500rpm...
What do you guys think? any suggestions?
Any help appreciated

My CLS as well as the Cayenne idles high when a cold start, I believe its a way for them to warm up quickly, as a general rule I always wait until they are ad idle before driving off. The humming is probably the SC.

That's completely normal, its just to let you know that its still cold. Mine does the same thing. And the whining can only be the supercharger.

its normal for the car to exceed 1200 rpm when you start it up, eventually in a minute or so it will drop down to around 900 rpm, which is perfectly normal in most cars, so you shouldnt worry ablot that. it is recommended if you want to take care and keep it in good shape that you stay under 3000 rpm until the temp reaches around 80 degrees.
