I guess we should detune our motors on the 63's to imitate the M5's slow accelaration? Also, you could only get the 55 for 6000 euros less? I know it was new and I'm sure the dealer told you that it was now rare but I cant believe you actualyl feel for that.
Now don't get me wrong, The 63's are great cars but maybe not for everyone!
I had the choice of a E63 after placing the order 2 years ago before it was announced. When it arrived It did not feel the way I expected (Remember this is my humble opinion) Dollars had nothing to do with the selection so I picked up another E55 and added a 335i TT for a daily driver and love both!
Both the 63 and 55 cars are great in my opinion! best to all 63 and 55 owners!!!

I think he lives in Bulgaria, not Belgium.
I don't mean to butt in on all your fights, but I have a nit about ignorant uninformed Americans getting European countries mixed up, i.e. Switzerland, not Sweden, Iceland, not Ireland, Bulgaria, not Belgium, etc...

cls55 takes the M5 with slip control on. I don't understand the language but a picture is worth 1000 words.

I don't care for the look of the M5, but the M6 is very fine. Those wheels are some of the most beautiful ones on the road.
M6 is the top pinacle of the BMW line, CLS is, at best a middle of the MBZ line up, a very beautiful sheetmetal on a E platform. Positioning equivalent of the M6 in a MBZ line up would be a CL65.
V10 vs V8

My choice, M6 all the way.
Why on earth did you get a CLS? M6 is 2nd rate in the looks dept imo. CLS 63 is so much smoother

I don’t understand it either, but I think I know what’s going on . The first few attempts are with not the highest setting selected for the m5 and possibly the cls... I believe the m5 has 7, 5 for how fast gear shifts and 2 other things. Now u can clearly see it has an effect on the m5, but here is my 2cents.
All u need to do in the cls, is have it in sport and you can drive comfortably all day with the option of flooring it when u want. i.e. pretty much you are ready for races if they happen. The M5 is not unless it has maximum setting selected every time you are driving it (s7) I believe or better yet LC mode which is nice ... but not found on US models and can cause over heating and problems if used a few times over a short period of time in Euro models from what I have heard
Here as exaggerated story ;p
So cls comes to traffic light and m5 omg i need to select everything on max now quick push push push buttons oh to late its green!
This is an exageration but still could happen
Oh forgot to mention the M button for the extra 107hp another button to push.

Aside for the little joke the M5 is the track car and has killer high-end speeds.... which is not to common in allot of countries with no auto ban
55, 63 luxury driving with a dab of seductive eVil
I love both cars n drool on them every time I see them  (55,63,m5), but is pretty much preference in the end

If you knew what you were watching, you wouldn't be saying that. Go find the full length video of that on youtube. They test the cars with different settings and that is with the 400hp setting. When they use the 500hp setting, it slightly edges out the cls like the last run in your vid. The m5 also edges it out in handling and braking. That video in its entirety wholly supports the bmw.

Cls/m5

Does anyone really think that the M5 looks nearly as sexy as a CLS? The M6 is a nice looking car but the M5 is a bit too boxy in the rear for me. I-drive is horrible. All of the different settings are not needed. Why would you want to have to press a button to get more HP? When would I ever need less HP. If there is snow on the ground then its time for an all wheel drive car. What are the chances of running into another car on the street and being ready to race in the M5? Getting the M5 ready for maximum performance is like going through a pre-flight checklist on the space shuttle. To each his own.

of course not !!! but compared to the m6, the m5 is a cracking bargain... You get a more usable car, with more extras (m dynamic seats anyone) for 3/4 of the price of the m6...

Only if you equate pressing one button with pre-flighting the space shuttle!

First time you drive the car, you spend 45 seconds programming all your settings into the M button, which is then what you press each time you start the car.

I'm not a big fan of BMWs, but I would take a M6 over any CLS, just because it is more of a roadster, than a secdan. But it is hard to compare the two, but definately a CLS 55 or 63, over a M5.

IMO you can't even compare the M5 to the CLS55/63. The M5 is just not in the same class, you can compare it to the E55/63 but even then it would lose immediately on styling alone.

the M6 however is a whole different story. I really do like that car but it's waaaay overpriced for what it is. BMWs just cost less than MBs but the M6 has an unjustified price tag.
As for power and styling I think its a great car. If money is no object I'd say go with the one you like driving in more. I can tell you right now that status wise, at least in the US, AMG goes a lot further than M.

I guess you really got ripped off on your CLS. Mine only has 4 seats not 5. The interior is very different than MY E-Class. The leather stitched dash and console trim. That huge piece of solid wood that covers the dash. In fact almost everything in the interior is different than my E-Class, it would be easier to point out the similarities as they are few. The exterior does not have ANYthing in common with the W211, not even a single light bulb.
By different class I meant coupe vs. sedan. And as much as people like to call the CLS a sedan, the manufacturer classifies it as a coupe and that's what I'm going with.
Are you sure you have a CLS? Let's see some pix. Cause if you'd sat inside both cars and driven them both you'd never say that.

As far as I am concerned they only share an engine, transmission, and brakes. That's about it.

CLS/M6 or 6

From a looks prospective, the M6 and CLS should not be compared given that one is a 2 door and the other is a 4. It's apples and oranges. Comparing the M5 & CLS is a good discussion. I too agree, like 00700700, that the M5 is a better buy then the M6. So- I wouldn't buy an M6 because an M5 is a better buy and I wouldn't buy the M5 because the CLS looks much better.

I would go with the M6.... it is a true sports car and will be way more fun to drive than the CLS55/63.

Honest answer? I don't know. I liked the CLS55 a lot. But I am such a car wh$$$ that now I have it, I am starting to look around, after 2 months. I'll probably move on to something else in a year, if my wife won't rip me a new one. She's already complaining that I spent mucho bucks on a Z06, CLS55 and Honda SUV all in less than 8 months.

only drove a m6, but have recently owned m5, cls55 and currently a cls63. no comparison, the cls 63 is
faster than the bmw's and most importantly, the transmission in the mb is FAR superior to smg. true, in very limited circumstances the smg is fun, but you have to wonder about long term problems with current smg's. overall quality of mb is superior and real world handling is excellent in both cars. frankly, i think a 030 optioned cls may even be superior in real world handling. let's don't talk "track" as neither make is a true track car. definitely recommend the 63.
