Automatic trunk closer?

I'm thinking of adding the automatic trunk closer has anyone added this feature?

I spoke to someone in parts at my local MB dealership and they said that it can be done but it's a major job.

I can imagine it will cost a pretty penny.

Last time I talked to Steve he said that he could do this (I think), you might want to ask him. Keep us posted as I would like this as well.

it's doable. I have done several of them. I believe mark cummings had it done on his wife's car and he lives near you. I suggest you check his out if you want to see it.

I have it on my 55 as a factory option. It never works. In fact the car is at Merc right now getting a new module installed for that option. How many times do you really open the trunk? How weak are we as humans not to be able to close it ourselves..

I think it is a great and useful option.

But I just don't like the sound it makes when I shut it. Kind of a flimsy sound.

ya mine does that sound too, But its cause of the license plate+frame. For me this option is very useful especially because my car is black so I never have to touch the trunk. and opening and closing the trunk while your still in your seat is dope too.

those are definitely not all the parts. You've missed the motor, switch in the drivers door, wire harness, motor, closing latch, etc.....Waaaayyy more than 500 dollars.
