brake squeak driving me maddddd

Do any of you have this?
3K miles on the car. i am sure I can't need new brakes yes since I haven't been to the track. What gives? How to fix it?
$100K car sounds like a cheap Chevy when you brake, down right embarrassing.

Others have said its the compound of the 030 brakes. You might want to try breaking hard a few times from around 60 mph.

I don't have 030, but I'll try the hard braking, just cause it sounds like fun.

No brake noise for me yet, 2200 miles and 3 or so hours on the track..Maybe it happened when you stomped em?

I have noisy breaks as well and hate it, it drives me nuts. Every time I touch the breaks I hear the most annoying (sweaking) sound. Definitely embarrassing. It's been like that since I've had the car.

I have 3100 miles and mine are noisy as hell. My wife was ducking in the seat because she was so embarassed about the sound coming out and all the people looking over.

I have it occasionally on an E63. It only has 700 miles and started at around 500. Was told it is a combination of the high performance pads and brake dust??

My CLS55 without 030 has had brake squeal since just a few hundred miles, 12k on it now.
It is so annoying and embarrasing, i want to slam it into an Oak tree.
I may trade it in next month anyway.
The noisy brakes are enough reason for me to get rid of it.

I heard so many complains from MB drivers about their brake squeak sound. so many people took their cars to their dealers and mostly dealer says "the car might sat in the garage too long." or "brake hard around 60mph couple of times." but it never worked out for them. I don't know... and the new S have that sound... it doesn't seem that all mb car has that problem, but it certainly is fairly common problem around mb cars... I really wanna know what dealer can do for you guys. i hope it can be solved... so far, i heard it won't go away...if you drive on wet day, it might be reduced well... for that matter, i guess bimmer brakes are better... (no offense..)

Me neither. Count me in on this thread also. My car only has 4000 miles and I get the squeaking also but it's only at very low speeds like when rolling to a stop in my driveway.

+1 on the low speeds.
There has got to be a recall on the way.
This is simply unexceptable. None of my other cars have ever done this.
time for a form letter to MB. Any idea who we'd send it to?

05 E500
I would like to chime in from an 05 E500 standpoint. I had the brake squeal develop around 12000 miles. The dealers said that there was nothing they could do about it. I changed the pads around 20000 miles. The squeak went away for about 2000 miles. I noticed it would get better if I kept the wheels from collecting too much dust but less than a 100 miles after washing the wheels the schreeching would come back. I had the dealer replace the rear pads around 40000 miles. All of this amounted to the same loud squeaking. I drove around for the last 2 years basically with squeaky breaks. I know what you mean about driving it into a tree. BUT, I finally took my car to an independent shop and they told me they could get rid of the squeaking. I was skeptical but I told them to go for it. They replaced the front rotors which had developed grooves wiith oem rotors and replaced the pads. The tech said that they can treat the same oem pads with something to make it less squeaky. I don't know exactly what the treatment is but the tech stated that the sbc breaks were too much trouble for MB, and that's why they dumped it last year. I have now driven my car about 1500 miles since the replaced rotors and treated pads. They did not do anything to the rear but told me I had a bout 50% pad life and grooves on the rear rotors and next time the rears would need new rotors too. So far I am happy with the independent shop. The price was not bad either.

3200 miles on my car with not one squeek, its only been in the rain once, and its only been washed 3 times, yes I wipe it down each time I drive it. Anyways my point is perhaps the least amount of water/dirt/dust you get in there the better off you are.

Same here CLS55(8/4piston) @ 1300 miles no noise at all.
CLK Performance Brake which is same as CLS regular 6/4 pot brakes, at 3K miles and no noise and it bites really hard. The noise is probably from wrong bed-in process?

Whoa there big guy!! There is NO reason get crazy... talking about selling and such... Just run down to your nearby Pepboys and get some organic pads, you'll be A-ok!

I haven't had any problems yet (17k miles), but then as Kevin stated, Mines always clean and never out in the rain or snow. Also I drive mostly highways.

Had this problem before. My mechanics told me that it's just a liittle piece of rock or something like that, got in between the pad and the rotor. Should be ok after a little suffering. Braking hard might help.

I hate to say this, but wait until you hit 3k miles, that is when it started for me...especially a slow stop. I would rather listen to my wife nag than these brakes.
