depreciation of CLS..???

do you guys know how much it depreciates per year?
and interestingly... my dealer just told me that MB stopped accepting a order for designo editioin with 030 and fully optioned. he said in the production line only car that has designo edition is mine. and right now, there are 2 other just like mine is in america plus 2006 designo model that fully optioned. he said it should be around 10 fully equipped disigno cars (graphite color) not counting 2006 models. so... is it likely for mine to hold value more than other's?

The short answer is no.

However, if and when you do decide to sell your car and you're lucky enough to find a person that is looking for a car that exactly matches what you have, then you may get above-market selling price.

Otherwise, if you trade it into a dealership, prepare for the worst.

Mercedes and most modern day cars do not hold their values. Expect 50% depreciation off of the purchase price of your car in four years. If you factor in sales tax and car registration, the depreciation is along the lines of 55-60%

Pretty much right on the money with those numbers. I would go as far as saying 50% in 3 years. That has been my experience.

In contrast, I just sold my mom's lexus for $31K (an 06) which she bought for $36K for. That is freaking amazing after 1.5 years of ownership. You would never be able to do that with a Merc.

If you can afford a cls63 in the first place,,you shouldn't care about the depreciation. Just my opinion.

i care about it because after 1 years, i might import to south korea. which they will charge me the import tax with the value of the car. if the car doesn't depriciate, it's my loss... you wouldn't believe the rate of import tax in asian country...

Don't know if I agree with you on that one. Part of the reason why I am at a point where I can afford this car is because I car about stuff like that . But I hear what you're saying. If I really cared I probably wouldn't have bought the car knowing it will depreciate a lot. My guess is the 63 will not depreciate very quickly due to low production numbers.

Not true,SL 65's are produced in ever lower #'s and they depreciate like bricks.Try losing $60k as soon as you drive it off the lot.....

that much is true. these cars depreciate like crazy. the good news is, the cls is new so it won't go down as much as a car thats been out for a while, but were talking a couple of percentage points i imagine...

It likely will if it continues to be slammed by Consumer Reports as it was in the just released April '07 Car edition; and no, it didn't distinguish between the standard and AMG models, but the market is unlikely to either.
