raced with new Corvette....
i recently purchased an cls55, love the car.
raced with my buddy on stock 07' Vette.
rolling start about 30mph. it was a pretty even race til about 110mph, thats when i pulled about 2 car lengths until hit governor at about 140mph.
i was quite happy.
also just put in new Michelin Pilots All weather tires, rides nice, but feels to me like the sidewalls are a bit softer than the pirelli p/zeros.
i don't ride the car too hard, but it sure is fun all around and killer looks.

Bill Freeman an experienced Corvette racer with over 30 years in the cars took my E 55 for a twirl to 158 mph.
Me "so Bill what did you think?"
Bill" This car is every bit as fast as my Vette, and you can fit 4 adults, wow"
Bill owns a C6 with some minor modifications. His car and the 55 were very close, I believe his car was a mere 400 hp though.

Both your and my anecdotes sum up the stories of "Bill and Boy's butt test"!
