Even If it was SMG, the guy would have to hit his shift points dead on to beat you. But supposedly, technically, with SMG he should beat you by a small bit

Nice...

Your 0-60 run...did you power brake? If so, how high were the RPMs when your launched?

The reason I am asking is because I have been trying to figure out when I am in that situation, should I have the esp on or off. I have tried it both ways...with the esp off, if i get too high on the RPMs my wheels spin too much...and with it on...after a few runs, the computer seems to 'learn' what I am doing a does close to a perfect launch...

please let us know.

Sorry but how do you mean 'he had no chance to catch you'? I cannot believe that there could have been much difference between the two of you unless he didn't know how to drive/didn't want to race.
What are the quoted times of the 0-60 of the 63 and the M5? Are they different enough for him to be left way behind? I doubt it somehow...

Its because its mathematically ridiculous. A CLS63 is not going to destroy an M5, they'd be even at best with two competent drivers. Refer to one of the latest kill stories to see the truth.

This is what happens when someone KNOWS how to drive their M5.

Not trying to be Gustav here, but you should really give credit where credit is due. The power on these cars is virtually even with a torque advantage going to the 63. But gearing is the equalizer, and an M5 driver who knows what they're doing can make it happen.

In a street race I think the 63 would win 90% of the time. The M5 has a better chance above 120 and most street races are bursts of speed which surely you would agree goes to a 63 due to torque. LOL , here we go again lets keep it nice ok? I do agree 100% with you that the cars are very close overall. Hey OT . Did you see the cherry 635 CSI on EBAY, wow..super nice, course I want a 33 but wow those were the best bimmers.

I completely agree with you about a street race. Conditions have to be perfect to get a good run out of an M5 and that really sucks about the car. Its much easier to get speed out of a 63. I raced an RS6 the other day and got taken on the first pull because I just wasn't ready. And yes I saw the 635 and of course drooled.
