Are CL55 and CLS55 performance comparable??
I was merging onto 280 after lunch today, when a granite grey CL55 zoomed by me in the fast lane. By the time I got over to the fast lane, he must have seen me in the rear view mirror because he did a now-too-familar jump from ~70 to 110/120. It was REALLY crowded on the freeway, and as other posters from the Bay Area will tell you, 280/680 is rife with CHP's this week. So I thought nothing of staying with him... just wondering about the comparable performance of the 2 cars. Besides I almost never street race any more...
He peeled off at the next interchange, I went on my merry way. Less than 2 exits later there was a CHP on the side of the onramp waiting...
In my opinion in terms of similar power and performance
E55 = SL55 > CLS55 > CL55
Obviously there are many holes in the above equation, but having driven many, many versions of all of the above at many AMG Challenges and track days, that would be my educated guess.

In the only test I have seen of the CL55, it did a 4.2 sec 0-60 mph and the 1/4 mile in 12.38 @ 114.5 mph. I think you would be hard pressed to find a faster CLS55 published time. The CL55 also weighs in at 4,255lbs... even the CL65 weighs in far below the 5,000lbs mark (I think about 4,750lbs).
