CLS55 Intercooler Pump

I know there is a High failure rate for these pumps, but how can you tell if it has failed? are there any signs how many miles before they go out? can you get into a dioganistic ( spelling) mode and find out? Anything to check before taking it to the dealer?

Thanks
Tom

So...There is no CC message--just loss of power. It must trip a code or something with all the electronics.

How does the Dealer diagnosis the loss of power?

Just tell them that your supercharger keeps shutting off and you have heard from others who have these same engines that its the faulty pump that is causing this. Thats what they did for me, they replaced it right away with no questions.

Same Intercooler problem!

I'm experiencing the same problem, loss of power I don't have time to take it to the dealer now. This seems to be the general consensus of the cause though.

Good luck if you happen to make it to the dealer before me please post how the dealer handled it and if you feel a differnce after it was replaced.

Luckily I do not have this problem (yet....hopefully not ever). However, I was at the dealer this morning on an unrelated matter and asked about this. For what it's worth, there is apparently newer part# for the 07 than the 06 intercooler pumps and regulator that is supposed to be a "fix." Just FYI for those unfortunately having this issue.

The stock bosch pump has a poor longetivity and efficiency. The car will feels like it loses "100hp or more". One way you can tell is @ the dyno, or do couple of spirited runs and you will feel the supercharger disengages all the time.
