Hey guys, I just closed the deal on deal on a black cls63 with 5300 miles. What do you think of this lease deal. Not that it really matters now since I already signed, but I want to feel good about the deal. The purchase price came to 89429.52(taxes and other fees included) Cap cost reduction of 6200.55(I am putting down 7937.81-cap cost reduction of 6200 plus first months lease plus 180.55 title/fees). Adjusted cap cost came to 83228.97. Residual is 37434.91. Monthly payments for 39 months is 1556. I figure the car at the end of 39 months should be worth more than 37434, so I can purchase the car and sell it to regain some equity. I am leasing to take the tax break if any of you guys wonder why I would not purchase. Anyway, I hope to get some pics soon. It will be shipped from georgia.
Regards,
John

Since you asked I will give you some info but I will preface this with that you have an awesome car and all that matters is that you are happy. Money is relative and some have more than others and therefore are able to part with it easier.
Here are the latest auction sales for your car and some have similar mileage. The car sells for much less but again, these are auctions prices and dont include recon and other items that the dealer may add on. With this being said, the price (your) seems a little high to me but if its an 030 car then that would make much more sense (if there is an 030 on the 2007 CLS63). But since you paid all of your sales tax up front you should be ok.

the car is not an 030, the price I paid was around 84K+TTL+shipping which came to the 89K price, man someone got a steal on the one for 76K. But your right, I am happy with the purchase, am not an incredibly rich person but I do OK. I don't count pennies just dollars...

those auction numbers are just that......
you need to look at the details before you make any conclusions. Manheim does a great job disclosing almost everything. usually the reason for low prices is because they are lemon cars, repair work, or condition average or below.
either way, picking up a newer car at auction is usually the best buy since it still has factory warranty.

In addition, if it is used--is it a CPO?. If it is new, then you can get the extended factory warranty. But as a lease, you don't need it. In fact, as a lease, who cares what the history is--less money up front the better it is.
Good luck with it and most of all enjoy it. This is one hell of an experience.

Sticker on this one was 100,805. It has P2, parktronic, elect. trunk closer, seems like that is what most of them have. I really wanted distronic since I had that on my old e500 but couldnt find one with it, distronic is pretty cool. It seems like a fully loaded 2008 is going for about 110K. Anyway, I am excited, and do plan on driving the car hard. I have my daily drivers(range rover and honda) so do not plan on putting much mileage on this one, I should be ok with factory warranty. The car...not really sure where it came from, I just asked my leasing agent(prolease here in houston) what I wanted and they found it in 1 day. It seems I may need to make a trip to california since it seems that is where most of you people are!

manheim isn't public. High line auctions are where MBCC goes to sell off lease cars. You will also see MBUSA sell demos, lemons, promotional cars and even cars used in the AMG challenge (which I wouldn't want since I have personally beat on a few there!). Some of the MBUSA cars at manheim can only be sold to a MB dealer.

But if a really great pre owned car is turned into the dealer on lease or even a trade, why would the dealer not keep it for resale, barring the fact that he needs the cash or it will be sometime for a sale? Great cars bring in big $$$.

My sticker was 103K. I put like $5K down and I pay $1515+Tax a month for 39 mo, 12K miles a year. and I bought it with zero miles. That was when lease rates were low though. Nowadays you can't get that deal to save your life.
