Those brands are top notch. But keep in mind there are several lines of Pilot Sports as well as Contis tires.
The best thing to do is go to www.tirerack.com and do your research. Factors to consider are your driving habits, treadwear factor, load ratings, speed ratings and your budget.
To buy the best tire for your need is 1/2 the equation. The other half is wheel alignment and balancing. I have mine done every 5k to max out the life of the tires. Keep in mind these pubbies are at labout $500. each when considering all costs. It's a good investment.

When It comes to tires, I dont mind the investment! Safety first, then all else, but I currently run the Pirellis and I dont really care for them. I heard a lot about the Pilots and I am leaning towards them.
I drive the hell out of my cars and so I just want a great tire...I do try to maintain them...Balance and alignment.
How about the road noise and handling?

I am a tire nut too. Pay for quality and do the maintenance. It's like oil. The PS2's are hard to beat, here's the TireRack listing. Noise, 8.6 (superior) and cornering, 9.2 and dry traction, 9.4 (one of the best non competition). And they actually work a little in the rain which is surprising.

I guess I should have said that I need it for winter driving as well. There are a lot of excellent tires for dry conditions but I was looking towards the coming winter months. I hate slipping and sliding around period.
This is what you should do. Get a set of new summer tires (PS2, etc..) on a set of 20" wheels and put winter tires on your stock wheels - that way you can take full advantage of what what your car has to offer.
