there's a huge difference between the 55 and the 550. i also live in orange county, and is rare to see a 55 or 63. especially at pre-owned. the price is almost the same. i have a friend who works for fletcher jones, and i am sure he will get you a rock bottom deal for a cls 55.

if you need his info. pm me.

I got my 550 last year and I regret for not getting the 55 or 63 ALL THE TIME!
Especially after I lost the race with a STI and a 07 chrovette, I felt even worse. I probably should make this a different thread, but how much did you guys have to pay for your 63s or 55s? On top of that, if I were to trade in the 550 in for 55 or 63, how much more $$ am I looking at? (my 550 has about 11000 miles and it's about to hit one year)

Anyways the dealer wanted 83K for it with 12K miles...I guess the white color commands a premium?

I made him an offer and left my business card with him to think about it. We'll see what happens!
you're very lucky to find a white one. 83k is a bit much IMO. I hope all goes well. keep us posted.

yes, you must be !!!! haha i personaly owned several porsches before, and i will never again purchase another one unless is the
GT3. most porsches have horrible interior, everything is an upgrade, no navi, no power seat, and i came to a conclusion that if i am paying 60k+ for a car, i want navi, power everything, and fully loaded...

Porsches are way too common here in my area, people seems to appreciate the CLS55 alot more...

i would suggest you go with a used Turbo before a Carrera S. thats just my opinion...

Ive been doing a little research and by far porsche people lean towards the 997 as opposed to a 996TT. I could easily get a 2003 996TT for the same price but I hear so many great things about the 997

yeah. but depending on what year 997. i personally love the 996TT. when you compare between the CLS 55 and the Porsche, you are choosing comfort over sporty.

True. I just figured I do have the E-class sedan already, so why add another 4 door...right?

CLS55
55 All the way!

Don't make my mistake and buy a 500/550 and a year later take the hit and trade it in for a 55.

looks like you are in the 80K range and dont know what you want, I woulndnt want a used car that was over two years old. A 03 996TT may be a good idea but the car is 4-5 years old and performance cars are rarely babied. If you keep going back in time you could get a mid nineties ferrari for 80K, maseratis etc.

My point is look no further than two years if you want a used sports car. It will be right out of the dep curve and a good buy.

As far as the 997S v. CLS55, Drive both....it will likely come down to power v. electric steering

06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
It took me about 3 months of looking and visting just about every dealer at least once in the So Ca area before I purchased. I was on the MBSoCal web site every day checking inventory.

I picked the dealer brains and learned about the 030 package. Finally negotiting with the 3rd dealership I ended up with my baby. You will enjoy and appreciate even more if you do your homework and see what is really out there and available, verus buying on the spur of the moment and hope you got lucky.

Good Luck.

No longer car shopping...
Here's is what "appears" to be a pretty decent 996 buy... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...159208848&rd=1
