Speedometer Error - Help

Hi everyone,

Am new to this forum and happy to be here. Anyway I have a problem with my speedometer readings and would be most grateful for any help. The digital speedometer reads about half the speed indicated by the analogue needle. For example when the analogue needle is reading 120mph I get a display of 60mph on the digital I can tell the analogue needle is reading the correct speed cos it feels nothing like 60. Does anybody know what could be causing this? No fault codes showed up last time I was at the dealership.

Weird, never seen this or heard of this. Tryu some simple fixes.

1. reset your settings in the cluster back to factory.
2. disconnect the battery

see if either fixes this.

I suppose this is covered under warranty, sounds wacky

Yes its the weirdest thing I've come across so far. I called the dealership and they also said they've never come across this problem. Anyway I'll try your suggestions and let you know the outcome. Thanks!

or take it to the dealer. this doesn't sound like something you should have to fix.

Ok I tried the resetting of the instrument cluster and batteries were disconnected...but no effect. I took it to the dealership this morning. I called them after a couple of hours, but they hadn't picked up any fault codes and they've asked me to give them till tomorrow. They seem to blame every problem I have on my upgrades. I'll keep you posted.

That is the strangest thing, but it is typical of the dealership to put the blame on upgrades, they want any excuse to blame the cars electrical problems on other things not related.
