I have a brand new set of "clear" side markers. I never installed them. I'll let them go for $45. PM me if interested.

Just install the clear on my artic white 55. Looks great. Make sure you get the yellow illuminating bulb with the silver glass so it looks clear but shines amber light.

I paid $75 for mine from ebay and is worth it.

The install requires removal of the wheel, partial removal of the plastic wheel well liner and lots of screws. About an hour each side, unless you stop to clean and polish the rims while the wheels are off (highly recommended).

Good luck.

I have a CLS550 and was able to just pry out the existing side markers with my fingernail. Pop out the light bulb harness and put into the new side marker. 60 seconds tops. Is there something different about the installation in the CLS55? I would have thought it to be the same...

Which part of the sidemarker did you start prying from? The side towards the front of the car or the side closer to the rear?

I started prying from the corner towards the rear, but I don't think it matters. I just started with my fingernail until the opening was big enough to fit my finger in to pop it out. The new side markers just pop right in and the fit is just as good as the original. FWIW, I also have removed them about 3 times after to experiment with different bulbs and they still fit perfectly.

There was a thread on this in the CLS500/550 forum. That's how I learned this method.

+1 no need to take out wheel

if it ends up getting loose, just pull the clips apart so that it spreads out further.
