Pretty mods i am looking into.

divided into three categories:

1. steering wheel upgrade
2. Paddle Shifters
3. Gear stick

My car is black with light cream interior (bayje if thats how its spelt?) and piano black wood.

Ok, what i would like is a wood steering wheel. . I have seen three posts that have sparked my interest

Is it possible to install CLS63 wheel?

now with regard to the CLK black series wheel. Does it come in different colors, or with wood?
Has any one tired the wheel on a CLS?

I know finny did i on his E and some other board member also did it, but not sure if it fits CLS or if it comes in different colors/wood

Gear stick
My current gear stick, has no key less go and is half leather half shamwa (if thats how you say it in English). instead of key less go i have a plain no logo silver circle

Here is a pic to help understand what i mean (this is not my car, but is simply used to help explain)

A:Half leather bit
B:Half shamwa leather bit
C:sliver empty circle



What i was hoping to do was remove the leather palm grip part and replace it with piano black wood, but leaving the front shamwa leather as is.
Does any one know if it is possible to remove the leather from the gear stick and replace it with wood?

Also i would like to remove the plain silver top circle and replace it with an AMG logo or a Merc Star one at least (AMG one is first choice ). Question is are these available

Any info would be nice and opinions on what to get

Take a look at the Brabus Shifter. You might want to put it on your XMAS list.

Kevin and I installed the same wheel and paddle shifters. The wheel is made my MP Designs and the shifters, I ordered from the dealership for $100.

This site sells both the wheel and gear shift in different colors with the Merc star in the center.

I personally think you should look towards getting the CLK63 BS steering wheel with the flat bottom. However, I'm not too sure whether it is offered in Cashmere Beige (I think this is the color you're referring to).

 

I think that's all they offer. Try contacting them and find out if they can get the color you want.

 

the color was there in the 3 selections, but wood needs it to be piano black... hmmm i really like the look of the wheel, but i will also see if the 63 wheel will fit.
110 motoring also gave an update claiming an 06 E model works with he CLK BS wheel.... now to find the color combo!...but no wood!

 

There is no reason why the 63 wheel wouldn't fit, the hub, the airbag, everything is the same, of course the paddles are differernt, but the plugs are the same. I would think that MP design should be making a steering wheel like mine that fits the 63, meaning its ready to go with the 63 paddles.

Right i have seen the 63 wheel and prefer the MP one. I have emailed them, but have not received a reply . and for some strange reason i can not seem to find the 3 colors i found before for the wheel .
dealer here can apparently do the wood coloring (piano black).
BS wheel does not seem to come in different colors

 

We can re-uppolster the BS steering wheel, and our own version will be out very soon with a choice of finishes/colors/materials...
