06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
Yep, the car still is on the display for all the world to see. I make sure I drive by it on the way home each day. My eyes don't believe what I see.
Just can't understand this mess because I had nothing but good experiences with my MB at my dealers service bays and no mechanical problems to speak of.
That's why it’s so hard to comprehend the situation. A $100K+ luxury car with such devastating problems that the warranty is not honored by one of the most respected manufactures of cars in the world? There must be something more to this than meets the eye.

I think the owner would make a more compelling arguement if he put the stock wheels back on and didn't make the car look extremely lowered on the trailer. In its current condition, it makes me think it is a highly modified car which has warranty issues which may have been caused by the mods and therefore the dealer (as dealers normally do) is refusing to repair issues based on warranty due to the mods and the owner is upset.
Not a lot of sympathy for the owner in that instance as we all know when you mod, you void the warranty.
I'm not saying that thats the case, but in my experience, when one returns to the dealership with anything but a stock looking car, the dealer starts blaming the mods.

I'd hate to be the one who stirs the pot but I used to work for keyes and I know a few people there.
I just got off the phone with a tech there, and according to the factory rep the engine does have engine modifications. Mercedes will quickly void your warranty if you do anything to the engine. I'm not calling the owner of the 219 a liar but someone isn't saying the whole truth.
If I really wanted to know I would call up Mike Conover and ask him for all the details.
BTW I have never seen, in my 6 years with Mercedes, a driveshaft fail even on heavily modded sl55s, they just don't fail without cause. It seems to me that there is more to this story

I know if i was the dealer, the company on the plates would never get any business from the dealer again
the car was probably beat to hell, i don't think i ever heard of a drive shaft fail on here, and i have been here for years, though newly registered

Cls In Need Of New Owner
WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR CAR TO A TUNER AND HAVE YOUR UPGRADES PUT ON (PULLY, ECU PROGRAMNING, LOWERING, AND ALL OF THE THAT NICE STUFF WE DO TO ARE CARS) WE ALL KNOW THAT THE WARRENTY WILL BE VOIDED IF MB FINDES OUT ABOUT IT. MERCEDES IS NOT AT FAULT YOU ARE FOR PUTTING ON ALL THAT CRAP ON YOUR CAR. YOUR KILLED YOUR DRIVE SHAFT DO TO A BAD TAKE OFF I HAVE SEE IT BE FOR. BUT UNLIKE YOU THE COUSTOMER PAYED THE PRICE AND FIXED IT NOT MERCEDES. YOU NEED MAN UP FIX THE CAR AND GO ON WITH YOUR LIFE. YOU OWN A CLS55 AND A G55 DONT BE CHEEP. SORRY FOR BEING TO UP FRONT BUT I HATE WHEN PEOPLE MOD THERE CARS AND EXPECT MERCEDES TO FIX IT WHEN THE MODS GO BAD. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT IT IS SAD THAT MERCEDES AND KEYS HAS TO DEAL WITH YOU.

Me and my girl friend read your story last night and our jaws hit the floor. Being Mercedes owners ourselves we have to be worried. I wish you the best.
