Check eng. oil level when next refuelling ?

I always see this message in these days.

If I drive very tough I don't see this message but under normal driving

I always see this message.

so I went to dealer and add 1 liter of engine oil.

but as soon as I left dealership I saw it again.

So I went back and check oil level again.

and the oil dipstick in engine room it says ok (it's just under the MAX line)

Now I'm confused which one is not working properly.

oil level or pressure sensor or dipstick?

Dealer will replace two things in two weeks for free(under warranty).

Does anyone have any idea ?

i had the same problem, when i took it to the service center, i found out that apparently there were around four broken oil seals, which were changed under the warranty.

oil leaks...

I haven't gotten the message yet.

But my mechanic buddy who checks my car from time to time, always looks and says that all Benz models are notorious for oil leaks from bad gasket designs & other seal problems.

This week I noticed a few drops of oil under my car too... Guess I better take it in to a service center before the warranty ends this year.

Take it from the Blood Doctor, oil is the life blood of your car... don't ignore it, get it fixed under warranty.

I think that when people say that the 63 burns some oil is an understatement. My CLS 63 burns about 1 qt every 1000 miles lately. I have about 9500 miles on it and have topped it up with 6 quarts since new. I do stomp on it every once in a while though and definitely dont drive like a grandmother.

My car is at the dealer right now because my CLS63 has been consuming between 1-2 quarts of oil in less than 1,000 miles. They can't find any leaks or fault codes... Always be careful when it comes to oil and you will not always see a leak if there is something wrong as in my case.

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
S. Cali owners...
What viscosity oil are you currently using with your 63 motor?
I've been using 5W-30 with my other cars.

I remember this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...ght=oil+engine and apparently 5W-30 Pennzoil full synthetic is one of the "approved" oils for the 6.2L motor.
Anyone use this or have thoughts on others?

well as far as I know..

"only Xw-40 and MB Sheet 229.5 approved oil" is the right one for our 63 AMG.

every time I look up the MB Sheet 229.5 oil list there's an advice that " *Not approved for use in AMG engines." guess what, Pennzoil European Formula Ultra 5W-30 is approved by MB Sheet 229.5 but not for our AMGs.

So I think Mobile 1 SuperSyn European Car Formula 0W-40 is the one.

anyway, Are there any differences in between Normal Mobil 1 Ow-40 and Mobile 1 SuperSyn European Car Formula 0W-40 ?

I'm pretty sure My dealership uses Normal Mobil 1 Ow-40.

If it's not the same one I'm secrewed.

The Mobil.com/USA website lists only one type of Mobil 1 0W-40 which happens to be the "European car formula" in their extensive list of oils.

I also found this product info page regarding the European Car Formula, http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lub...il_1_0W-40.asp.

I think for the North American market there is only that one type.
