Why the onset of lack of posts in this forum?
I'm sad guys : (
I guess I won't share anymore pics of other cars, I just do it because I have a CLS so this is my home, and I thought you guys enjoyed them...

I agree though, since there's not much going on here almost every post is mine...I guess I won't post the LP640 we're about to shoot, or the 599GTB, oh, or the Renntech SLR, those are boring.

I think we will have more reader if we were to combine the CLS 55/63 with the 500/550's. I have been seeing alot of CLS around Orange County here, but hardly any 55's or 63's.
I have to agree, not too many of us 55's/63's guys are doing Engine Mods or upgrades. just the typical Wheels and Lowering....
and I think alot of people who are reading our thread are not replying or posting their thoughts.

Well, for my $0.02, and w/ all due respect to Forged 360, this forum appears sometimes to be an ad forum for their products, although it is tastefully done and has some great cars w/ great, high quality pix.
Secondly, after a while, there's really only so much one can talk about about any particular subject that has been around for a while and most (certainly NOT ALL) issues well hashed out in the discussions/forum. Like Einstein said: "There's nothing much new under the sun..."
I used to own a RS6 and hence visited the RS6.com forums (very nice). Then, I sold it and my interest obviously waned. Far more importantly and most unfortunately for RS6 fanatics (and I definitely remain one!!
) when Audi decided not to bring it the States........well, how long do you keep the fire burning when you know she ain't coming to your bed no matter what you do. So, that forum kind of deteriorated into a lot of personal chatter b/c there's just (at least in the USA) so much you can talk about the gal you are never going to get......
I love the MBWorld forums and this one, so I'll hang in there for sure as there are some great folks on here, well informed, helpful and informative!!

I think a case can be made that it's the most beautiful 4-door car in production today (although the Quattroporte is still a stunner), but I think the Aston Martin DB9 or Vantage would win most any beauty contest. In fact, when the CLS was just being introduced I debated buying it or the Maserati and decided to go with the QP instead because I knew it would be more exclusive and I wouldn't see myself coming and going. That was a few years ago and the QP is long gone but my appreciation for the CLS's graceful and sporting lines has not abated, hence the reason I am now about to become an owner.

We were discussing the new facelift and the CLS inspiring category....

What's your point?
Why would you quote my post from a different thread here?
And I never quoted your post from another thread here.
Merely referring another discussion as it has content related to CLS and Quattroporte, etc., and thought you might be interested in simply comparing. That's all. What's the big deal; why are you getting rash over that?
And I never quoted your post from another thread here.
And I never quoted your post from another thread here.
This thread is about the fact that there are too few posts or activity lately
and you come up with "We were discussing the new facelift and the CLS inspiring category...." and then quote me from the other thread about which cars we think are the most beautiful.
I still don't get it, but no matter, not a big deal.
Oh I don't know, Jeff; seems a little inflammatory to me.
Total cheap shot entirely without merit. Like dogs pilling on, you had to throw out an unfounded attack at me. In CF you wanted opinions about the GT convertible you had interest in. You talked about the bad depreciation value of MB. Then, because you decide upon the CLS and felt slighted in CF, calling them names as bad as they ever called you, making your way here, right away you felt compelled to throw digs in a lowly attack upon people like me who treated you only with the utmost respect.
That's a big deal, Jeff.
For guy who sought such civility upon yourself in CF, you start right in here with the foremost incivility. Perhaps you're bitter. Nevertheless, that had nothing to do with me.

I love your posts!! Problem is not 360. I can see the other posters points, but I still enjoy reading what My buddy Jordan is up to.
Nope. That was NOT the thread linked or quoted.
Which was in the CLS forum and focusing on content regarding CLS. Thus why I presented another CLS thread that discussed some of the things you had mentioned in your post.
Jeff, I linked the thread. Just go back and reread it sir. The thread WAS NOT on "which cars we think are the most beautiful..." You are mistaken.
I can see that you don't get it. Again, just go back and reread. But as far as the "no matter, not a big deal," ah, I would agree... so why did you go into that Poll Ban thread and accuse me of "stirring up trouble in the CLS thread with silly arguments; calling me a troll that's getting his kicks"?

I also regret piling on by posting a comment in the Ban Poll. I did not vote in that poll, however.
Anyways, I'm going to keep posting, for all of you who enjoy to see our new setups. For those who don't like to look at exotic cars with incredible photography, simply don't open the thread.
My suggestion would be make one post with all your cars, and then just keep adding to it. When you have 15 posts from you and 5 from others it takes away from the CLS chat. As I said I love seeing all of your cars but when I log on and see majority 360 post's, what is there to contribute to?
Anyway.
I do appreciate your regret stated here, but given you did not alter such unfair and unruly comments where it matters most – right where you had placed them, it matters little in this thread. The damage was already done as it were in the relevant thread. I expected better of you. Those votes are irrelevant to everything. The unwarranted, highly erroneous piling attack (joining in with a minority outlandish horde) was far more the issue. Most unjust.
Anyway.
Anyway.
CLS outsells the E class nearly three to one
Hard facts:
year model sold vehicles
2004 E55 3,218
2005 E55 2,214
2006 E55 1,187
2007 E55 soon
2006 CLS55 2,765
2007 CLS63 soon
My guess is for for the trend to continue with the CLS out selling the E almost three to one in the coming years.
May 25, Sunday NY times auto section has an ad for discounted 2008 AMG's
SL55, $119,193 ($20,072 off)
S63, $122,000 ($8,275 off)
CLK63BS, $119,000 ($19,375 off)
also
CL600 V12 for $137,111 ($15,199)
I don't know about other markets but I have never read an ad for a discounted CLS55/63 here in NY ?

While the CLS is a higher demand vehicle the body style has very few production years 06 and 07 and two different engines in the AMG form. The E55/63 has 2003-2008 so although in 06 2700 plus vehicles were sold there are many more E class drivers than CLS. If we combined the 500/550/55 and 63 in one group we would have alot of action butthe CLS 63 is quite a bit different than the CLS 500 or 550 or even the 55...Bottom line is in this Forum most the action is in the E section and all the other sections are minimal . Looks like the C63 section is going to be Busy!
Thanks for the info. My CLS 63 was discounted in 07 8-10k but that was a dealer error. Man I would LOVE to buy any of those cars at such a hefty discount. You rarely see AMG cars offered so far below sticker
55/63's
Motivation is what’s missing, since I kill everything with four doors I meet, haha.
The E has sold 12,000 cars since 99, CLS will do this in four or five, sales should have cumulated to 10-12k and when combined with all models will finally become attractive to aftermarket product mfg’s.
As soon as “55-63’s” owners find their warranty’s expired and loans paid off they will be ready for serious mod’s. Perfect storm, thousands of 55-63’s demand power products. AMG is positioning themselves to ****** some of these aftermarket sales in addition to some long established and competent tuners.
The CLS will continue to sell very well till 2010 when the new BMW, Aston, Porsche 4 doors arrive and eat into sales. By then four and five liter’s will be back in style because of government interference in our free market society (CAFÉ).
Myself, I prefer the speak softly but carry a big stick approach .. 6.3 liters
