how do we change the battery in the key?

2007 CLS63 AMG
how do we change the battery in the key?

message says "change battery"

any ideas?

run it over to your local dealer, they should change it out at no charge to you...and it is described in the manuel like AMDEUTSCH said

I had this happen to me on Sat. morning...I figured it was because I never stick it in the ignition, I always use the start button. From what I understand, you should use the ignition every once in awhile as it actually charges the key. I drove with it in the ignition for the rest of the day - On Sunday, started using just the start button again and don't have the issue. Might save you a trip to the stealer...

So, the key actually uses a rechargeable battery?

wow this is news to me too... its probably on a borderline limit which throws the low battery warning, let us know in 1-2 weeks if you dont get the low battery warning...

+1...the batteries are not rechargeable. They are standard CR2025 batteries.
