if they are a nice forged wheel I think chrome is alright.
BUT regardless of what we like the ladies will always love chrome. You could have polished/black/gold $6000 multi piece wheels, and the ladies will not like as much as your $1000 bling wheels. and I mean ALWAYS. its like lipstick to them.
so that is one BIG plus about chrome. You gotta be careful with chrome, especially on a mercedes, because it can take away from the car very very VERY quick.

Chrome wheels are totally gangsta and cool if you drive a $2000 caddy and pay $3000 for the wheels and live in the hood..... Hehe I think chrome wheels are very overrated and don't give the feel they did 10 years ago same with black/chrome wheels .... Every ricer or gangster seem to do that nowdays ..... So if u really want to love your wheels and stand out get 360 forged or HRE's....

It's your car, do what you want, do what you like. If you want chrome wheels buy a set, just don't buy a set that looks like it belongs on an Escalade. I have been to car shows and seen very tastefuly done chrome wheels. I have a neighbor with an Hamann widebody M6 with chrome wheels that half the people on this site would kill for. What ever you choose, just make sure it is tastefully done. As for the guy who said it looks too "Honda", I'll tell you what is getting too "Honda" is the played out look of black on black...if I see one more Honda Accord or Toyota Camry sporting 16" black wheels with a machined or polished lip on a black car I'm gonna die. I think that is the dealer add-on of choice now days.

Chrome wheels are butt-ugly, but not nearly as bad as carbon fiber wheels!
Hahaha just kidding, get whatever you like. They aren't my cup of tea but if you like them go for it

Alright, So with all this jaw-jacking about chrome or no chrome... what's it going to be and what color is your car?
Here is the golden answer... You should go against what your wife says and get some brushed 360's. When do women tell us men folk what to put on our cars, especially rims? <--rhetorical question.

Ok bobblehead I used to have chromes on my 5 series in early 2001 and I get rid of them because I saw what had becomed with them check my pictures and ull see for yourself... The only people that complimented them were the people drove the types of cars I described on my previous comment.... So before you call somebody ignorant again realize that u might b one yourself!!!

This comment makes no sense. The leading brands that make high end wheels offer chrome. My chrome wheels cost $8,000, more than most people can afford, but it does not matter. Like someone else mentioned, there are some very tasteful 3 piece chrome wheels on the market.
I've lived in a few hoods that you feel the need to mention, and I've worked my way up to a pretty good lifestyle, but I definately take offense to your hood comment. You know nothing about the hood, and it's obvious by reading your comment.
Its amazing and sad that a group or class of individuals must now be identified by the shine of a wheel.
My Lowenharts were sold and I am currently waiting on a set of 360 forged wheels.

You are basically saying that you were fine with the chrome wheels until you noticed a certain group of people with them also, right?
I am officially pissed.

So you changed your wheels because a certain group complimented your car? So I guess you hated feeling a connection, or feeling like you were a part of that group? This is crazy and contains a hint of racism.
