you have any pics of the stripped down trunk and interior dyno? I haven't started my install yet and would love a headstart on what to expect when i start pulling everything out

you can easyly enjoy the whole nudity of your trunk by simply taking away the side panels ... if you have not enough of what I posted about mine

.. update ...

my installer is a great Guy
..we had a few hard discussions but ... finally got convinced to remake as I wanted it done: frigobar on suspension and rear room available

left and right rooms will be normally covered with removable panels (pic on previous page)

- Look for Audio Fans only ... nearly complete-

must decide where to put the DMA above the frigo or to the left side ??
probably it will be installed only if my man will be able to make the special grill for Midranges on front doors .. as per my project on page 1
otherwise, it will replace one of the other big amps.
.. I think He can

the making of "cappelliera"

if comrade DucatiNut doesn't mind .. I continue posting pics of my install

I see now that, in principle, there could be enough room for 2 x 10" Subs while maintaining stock shape

... maybe next time. let's try now with the Morel Ultimo 12"

and now, come on with the (first) most difficult job: the making of "cappelliera"

before covering the Cappelliera with Alcantara, better take a rest and practicing with the right side panel ..

and floor panel

don't know if I want that AMG plaquette to the left ...

its time to see the Cappelliera

... a bit afraid but OK, I get closer

Inside

now, let's see how it looks from outside the "Nude view" of the Morel's Ultimo 12"Sub and Integra Ovation 4" coax satellites

yeah .. seems the man did his job weel enough

unfortunately must wait for the making of the metallic grill I wanted.
told me he must make a mould ...

but he is busy preparing this Vito for an SPL competition:

149.2 decibels - WOW -
asked him to listen inside there at some favourite songs
.. crazy thing

Looks great. do you have some more pictures of the trunk? Would be curious how you were able to get the amps to fit in there and still look clean

Exactly those were the provisions I gave !

- the right side panel, for example is not bigger than the E02 option panel ..

.. I would say that mine is better

- the floor panel and the shelf underneath (containing the amps) could have been been 2 more centimeters thick (my amps are only 6cm thick)
It can indeed hosts more things but for aesthetical reasons we put only those 2 big visible amps.
I was thinking of putting there a voltage stabilizer (2 indeed ).. but didn't agree with the seller
Even if the mechanical pump and a further secondary pump rob enough room and required strenghtening of the shelf structure, there will still be room for an audio processor with auto-equalizer + time alignment device that has not been released, yet ..
Still, the spare wheel and other thigs are in place.

There is enough room for 3 Optima batteries to replace the stock one but I will first tell my Stealership to replace my battery with a new one and only if working time will be really too short I will go for those Optimas.

In any case, the floor will becovered with an additional removable carpet and amps will normally stay hidden (and protected from luggages).

if you go to post 29 I think, you can see more pics.

I finally chose to put the new DMA amp above the cooler just because I like it there but it could have been arranged otherwise with him in disguise.

The same is for the Cappelliera (rear dash ?)
this the drawing I gave to my installer, showing I only wanted to enlarge the original grille for hosting the real subwoofer I now have

but it will be a "double face" thing:
- nude look (without grille)
- stock-like (one only big grille in place that they are trying to mould now

...can't get if you do not leave your comments after seeing because you are negative or what ...

I would like this AMG original logo put on the grille, onto a specific seat
and obviously, the grille final finish will be Black satin

the idea behind his design was the Audi S8 - Bang&Olufsen rear deck

I thought my design could be a good way to avoid departure from the oem style, while getting something sexy enough for the new gear.
(in any case it allows, if desired , the fitment of a stock rear deck panel and grille for a full stealth system)

.. also the work Alpine did in their CLS show car was fine
but too far from stock and I did not want to loose headrests

AGENDA

at this point I am confident enough of the capabilities of my installer and I vote for going ahead
(even if I am really tempted to get everything home and ... RUN
especially because today they told me from Germany that my Tune is finally OK ... )

so, what next ?

3 main things to do:

1- doors MidRange installation and custom grille: ...this is really difficult
2- bigger Tweeter housing: a zoomed version of the stock or of E02 design: .. not easy, too
3- modified mid-bass housing and grille: .. affordable

I said 3 things ? ... wrong !

4- fitting a 4" speaker (+ 1 tweeter, maybe ..) in the Center channel location: .... hardly possible

I was forgetting, also the
5- cover panel for BoardBar ... but this is something easy

Wow, I just found this thread, you guys are very serious about this sound thing. This stuff looks RIDICULOUSLY cool! Wish I had the time to muck around with this.
