Quote: ok guys. sorry for the long wait!
the piece fits fine. my friend accounted for the curvature of the diffuser.

here are a couple phone shots. 3m double sided tape was used to attach the diffuser.

Beautiful. Look 1000% better than that plastic crap we have there now. I would like to know pricing as well. Please add me to the list jikjak. Please let us know the install process as well. Thanks buddy. Welcome back home. It's about time you came back from your business trip.

i dont know about getting the logo pressed into that. ill have to ask.

as far as pricing goes, the diffuser will be selling for US$350 plus shipping from Vancouver, BC. if we can get 10 people to order together then he will knock the price down to US$300 plus shipping.

sorry on the delay on better quality pics. ill try to get that done in the next few days.

I've got a CLS500 with AMG kit, but I think you mentioned the diffuser/rear bumper may be different? So I guess I'm counted out?

Man1,
Don't mean to be off topic but that's tight. Where did you find that photo and who makes that door insert and emblem? Is it carbon fiber?

Yup its the front CF Lip. Will post some better pix later. The last pic shows the gap i told you guys about earlier. Its flush on the other side.

Damn! That's a big gap! Their site claims it bolts right on perfect fit with no modification at all to the front bumper.

Is that piece solid or hollow and does it use factory mounting locations or are you drilling holes?

Quote: Thanks, I took the insert off my bumper today, comes off really easy . Infact as you can see it should pop straight back on. I wanted it off anyway, on a black car i think they are better. I really need a rear bumper now to go forward so keep your eyes open. Does anyone know the procedure to removing the rear bumper?, I could do this if anyone can give me some pointers?

You should have tried the floss method.

I'm actually in the process of making a rear diffuser as well as a front splitter. Like you I plan on making one that actually works as a diffuser.

I'm also considering a complete cut out of the rear bumpers lower section to get working diffusers without making it look like a farm implement. Also considering a center section removal for a small center tunnel.

Mucking up a mold will be pretty easy.

@von32897 - Thats the door panel you get with the Black Series (SLK/CLK/SL). I got the pic from mercedes-amg.com

Jikjak, if you can get that done, you are selling 50 of these right here man!!!

@JustPete - Thats my car with the lip. The issue is that if you start bolting from one side, you do end up getting like a quarter inch gap on the other. They want you to start from the middle for which you defiantely need a lift. And no it is not bolt on, you need to screw it in. The finish is pretty good though. It is also quite rigid so dont do the install when it is extremely cold, the lamination starts to crack.

Can't tell from the pics. Is that a solid 3D piece or is it hollow underneath?

It is hollow on the sides but the carbon fiber is pretty think. Most of the front is solid.

I'm also interested in finding where and who makes the best carbon fiber lip? Also would like some bigger side skirts to replace the OEM. Are the aftermarket side skirts for the CLS55?

hey guys, here is the reply to the question regarding the AMG logo on the diffuser.

"I've checked the pic regarding with the BS door panel. I've also talk to factory and they don't think it will work with our diffuser piece. Since the diffuser need to be flexible for install. The logo will actually act like a structure at the middle and we afraid that will create install issue."

anyone else want to get in on the group buy?

The mould would be based on this design, based on a C63. I am waiting for the guys who make the tooling to get me a cost. Because its a custom part they have to make an overlay tool for the CF process, not as simply as making a rep of a OEM part. I am expecting to pay approx $1500 for the tool, but the more CF parts I can get them to make, the better the price per piece. I think i will keeping going and keep you updated.
