I have a CLS500 with AMG kit. So in the rear it's got a single tip exhaust on each side. Can I still install this diffuser, and then easily put a dual tip exhaust tip on each side? If so, count me in for sure. Thanks. I'm just not sure if the CLS500 AMG rear is really the same as the CLS55 AMG rear

CLS500 with AMG kit and CLS55 bumpers are identical except for the exhaust pipe openings. That can easily be cut on the CLS500 with AMG kit to a CLS 55 quad opening (I have seen someone on this Forum that have a template for this). With a new rear bumper diffusor (also called apron) for a CLS 55/63 then the conversion is complete.

Yeah that's my bumper. So I can't just replace the diffuser/apron using one that has a quad opening? Is it because the rest of the bumper is different?

That rear diffuser looks tough. Can that be order alone. It seem like it is part of the bumper.

i think that in order for u to do that u would have to do some cutting to make the exhaust openings larger to fit the quad tips.
im still not sure if the rest of the bumper or the shape of the diffuser is the same though. the best thing to do is to compare it side by side with a CLS55 or CLS63 at a dealership or at the next local car meet.

Renntech doesn't look good, but looks like it actually works for it's intended purpose.

I think I may fabricate one just for the hell of it.

My dealer just told me I can't change just the apron on my CLS500 for a quad exhaust, I have to change the whole rear bumper. To be honest I don't believe him because he seemed clueless about so many other things. Hopefully it's not true otherwise I can't get the carbon fibre apron when it comes out.

To be honest....most damn dealers don't have a clue about pretty much anything. It is sad because they are allow to sell these high end cars without much knowledge and just reads the invoice descriptions on the window. I had might done without changing my entire rear bumper. All you have to do is a find a good body shop that can do a clean cut. Search this forum for my posting about the rear.

as jikjak already said, I also think that you'll need only to slightly cut your bumper's plastic to fit the quad

You name it i've had it or got it...
if you have seen it in person the renntech piece is actually very attractive...the pics i took of my renntech piece for some reason look like they were taken at what appears to be the worst angles! it does hang low.....but it you view it from the side it actually barely hangs lower than the lines of the bumper side view of the rear bumper plus from behind it is noticeable but does not stick out like a sore thumb in the pics i took.

Sorry but it doesn't do the car justice. That's putting it mildly. IMO

ok guys. sorry for the long wait!
the piece fits fine. my friend accounted for the curvature of the diffuser.

here are a couple phone shots. 3m double sided tape was used to attach the diffuser.

Did they wrap your old diffuser? Or do you still have it to sell me?
