RPI ram air for CLS...So Cal area
im just wondering if there are any so-cal CLS owners willing to stop by a shop called RPI to test fit these ram air flaps.
its a cheap and simple mod to do and they have shown that it can help generate some hp. i dont mind trying it but im nowhere near them and they dont want to releast the product to me without making sure it will fit and make gains on a CLS.
my friend has this installed on his M5 and he says he loves it and can actually feel a difference.
well either way it doesnt hurt to try, so is anyone in that area willing to give it a go?
here is some info on it for an E63

if youre nearby swing by their shop and see if it will fit.
based on the pics and on what i see when i removed my grill, it looks like it will work for us as well.

our scoop has a different shape
it is straight indeed
.. need only to open the plastic flap
like this
or take it away like this ..and you are done
imho, the real issue is another one: the driver inlet i smuch smaller than the passenger's
somebody modded it replacing SL's tube .. but I think that till you don't have a 90mm TB it doesn' t matter much

jikjak, I agree with Dyno. All you have to do is cut the strip restricting air flow and you're done. I did it to my E55 and I noticed it was a tad bit healthier under acceleration. No need to waste 200 bucks on a piece of plastic with a sticker on it when you can do it yourself for free. JMO.

anything can be tried out especially when easy and cheap, but don't expect something miracle..
you could also try to take off the pipes (pitons) and see if front air intake restriction makes a difference ... till it doesn't get too hot

I can tell you this, because it's free you lose nothing by trying it.

the sense of those plastics is to avoid entering objects, therefore if you live somewhere close to lakes you 'd better put behind a net (a sexy styled lady stocking would be good )
