I pulled mine off by hand. Pull the side closer to wheel well.

Easy greasy.

1. Right along the wheel well, slightly grab the inside shroud and pull up and back.
2. After that, reach inside with your hand and feel for the tab. Press in, and and push out.
3. The side marker will come right out, and change it out.

I just did mine with clear two days ago. Take a look at my post with picture:

I was afraid I would break it or the clips, Konigstiger gave me the "safe" method. I suppose either way will work.

Is it a lot easier if the car is on a lift? I'm actually having a schedule E service done and will ask the service dep't to change them out. Shouldn't be a problem, right?

Von they are easy for anyone to do. Takes about 5-10 minutes, read my post above. No lift needed.

Yup I broke one.... modifying the original instructions:

1. Right along the wheel well, about even with the side marker on the inside you'll see a black plastic push pin. Take pliers or a flathead and pop the head out of the pin and remove the pin. Now you can:
2. Right along the wheel well, slightly grab the inside shroud and pull up and back.
3. After that, reach inside with your hand and feel for the tab. Press in, and and push out.
4. The side marker will come right out, and change it out.

Four years after it was posted, this thread still helped someone. Swapped out my yellows for clears tonight. After looking at those nasty yellows for 3 years.

Thanks guys.

PS. Sorry for bumping this old thread MBW friends, but I probably wouldn't haven't have bothered messing with it if I had known up front what to expect.

Ssonss1, are u saying u just pulled off the side marker directly from the outside without having to remove the shroud from the wheel well and going through the inside? Thanks

FYi - I had a picky passenger side one that didn't want to stay snapped in even though I heard it click. It popped out slightly a few days later. I had to go from the back and pull the tabs to snap tightly. Now perfect.

Clear marker w/ yellow led (it's just as bright as the white, it just doesn't look like it in this picture)

Is there a way to pop it off from the outside? I’m about to replace these on my car tomorrow
