06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
credit turned down blessing in disguise.
this car will be worth less than $40k in a very short time. (i used to make what i thought were conservative predictions on what used cars will be worth, truth is - it's not possible to be conservative enough).
imho, for the $20k depreciation hit, you're better off spending $20k on a nice car that you enjoy 90% as much as the CLS63. after all, in 2 yrs the $20k is probably still worth $10k+.
btw, just so you realize that ths scenario works. two years ago i bought my used 2002 S55 ($110k MSRP) for $21k and it's probably worth $10-13k today. the S55 still drives and looks great, and most people still see it as a $100k. would i enjoy a newer S55 or S600 more? yes. however, i've got 90% of the fun for 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost of upgrading today. in 2 yrs, i can do this again. just donate or sell my S55 cheaply to a friend, and buy today's $40k car for $20k.

My CLS 55 MSRP $107k paid $92K owe $60k today and it is worth $40k now. Upside down by $20k. Fastest way to make $$ disappear.

You've only mentioned this 50 times...if our forum is so dead, feel free to liven it up or try not complaining
The 211 forum is where most posts are located....CLS AMG is a low production car, thus fewer owners (particularly MBZ owners searching out an internet forum to talk about their cars...most are too busy living the good life & making money), thus fewer posts.

Idk about you guys, but I could live a good life AND spend some of my time on car forums... it's called... hobbies, some go golfing, I'd rather talk about my cars with others who share the same hobby. Reason there aren't that many people on here is because there's not enough content to keep people around, they look at a few threads and leave. There's a ton of members here, just not enough active ones.

It's also amazing how much entertainment & pleasure these high end cars provide. Gotta pay to play and I'm happy to pay when the upside is so high...and when the alternative is a boring grocery getter with no automotive soul or pulse. Let everyone else have cars with no souls that don't depreciate...I'll enjoy the depreciation and leave a 200ft double-strip of smoking rubber all the way to the bank to pay my car payment

Yes anyone who says there is no such thing as the correct offset. Who is also going for the VIP stretched tire look, with the rims sticking out past the leading edge of the fender is STUPID.

A correct offset is what the owner prefers, as long as you know what you're doing. Personally, I'm not a fan of my wheel setup that I've spent thousands of dollars on looking like everyone else from an angle other than a straight side profile.
You might think it's stupid because you have your head up your a$$, but others... who live off this culture, and make a car that looks like utter crap turn into something sweet with such a simple thing as OFFSET.

Watch and see, you think everyone who puts a slightly more aggressive offset on their car bends their fenders? You do realize that if you do your math, you can come as close as 1mm to clearing the fenders and you'll never rub, or bend your fenders?
Keep talking like you know everything, why be so hardheaded? You don't appreciate a style in modding because YOU PERSONALLY wouldn't do it? Try being a bit more open minded, makes hobbies that much more enjoyable, especially when you can understands others aspect on modding.

Wheels outside the fenders...umm yeah I'm not a fan either. Typically NOT found on high end cars...b/c it looks ridiculous.

That is a little over board, I like it and all but not something I'd do personally.
This is the offset I'm going for.
