Mobil 1 Oil & Beverly Hills MB
Just got back from my Stellar experience with the Star Dealership of Beverly Hills. Until now, my experiences with this dealer were great. However, all good things come to an end according to Murphy’s Law. I knew I was in trouble when trying to explain to the Service Manager the correct oil that they should have used in my CLS 55 with the P030 performance package.
The SA and Manager both stated with confidence that Valvoline is a great oil and is the correct oil required by MB. When I replied with the MB spec 229.5 and 229.51 they thought I was from some other planet.
This great experience cost me $500. for Service B and I added the Coolant flush on top of that for a grand total of $649. They refused to change it out to Mobil 1. I should have gone to Vegas for that amount and gotten screw there instead of MB of BH. Maybe next time I’ll try Jiffy lube.

what the hell? I work for MB and I have never seen them Promote Valvoline only Mobile1. Maybe their manager should crack open an owners manual or dealer ordering guide for oil or use the MB part numbers for mobile one oil. Be careful with outside places though I had oil can henry call me up once and ask me where the oil filter was rofl. Try another dealer there are plenty in so cal.

Did they show you that the Valvoline met the MB spec 229.5 and 229.51? If not I would of had the entire dealership management team standing at attention by my car. But I am kind of an Ahole

Doesn't surprise me, service experience at Beverly hills BMW has been terrible the two times I've been...should've learned the first time....I keep meaning to make the time to write to BMW NA about BH BMW and Monrovia BMW, consider doing the same...

No way dude never let that cross your mind again. I wouldn't even have taken 120k E46 325i to a jiffy lube. Believe me I have had the Jiffy lube and indie shops car washes audio shops coming to me with their horror stories they have done all the time to customers cars. I even seen a shop owner laugh that he was lucky they didn't warranty the car over 1 month for their service. I felt bad for the customer needing another air mass sensor because it filled up with oil for the 2nd time and this was on a W210 and the person probably didn't have the money to have it fixed in the first place that's why he took it there. You on the other hand have a choice :P if your shop is indie make sure he's MB certified with a start diagnosis or no touchy that baby.
