Anyone coming from a M6 or gone into one?

I know the CLS55 and M6 are 2 totally different cars but I would appreciate any input from previous/current owners of these 2 cars.

TIA

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
I've had both, and several other AMG 55's...

and the M6 is a great car in lots of areas. Lights, hi-fi, nav, all superior to the CLS and SL. Prepaid service is nice too. But both current m5 and m6 lack SOP torque. You have to work a little harder to get them honking. On the other hand, the noise is great, especially with some of the aftermarket exhaust systems. The M6 does feel less nimble than the SL, about the same as the CLS. Depreciation is atrocious on both, so watch your pricing. Nice car.
I didn't get the same amount of interest from my M5/M6 as I got from either the CLS or SL. And the M6 convertible, while it works well and is quiet, does not provide the rigidity that an SL top does. Of course, that doesn't matter is you keep your CLS....

Not a previous owner but I seriously considered the M5/M6 before I bought the CLS.

M5 you have to drive it like you stole it to get any performance out of it.

To me the CLS is just far more classy looking, particularly in comparison to the M6 which I just find to be ugly. Personal taste though!

I've taken my CLS to the track and it holds it's own relative to it's size. But of course, on the track, no 5000 lb car is going to win the slalom.

I hope this helps!

Agreed the M6 is butt ugly it looks like a fish on wheels. I almost purchased one until i remembered the CLS55 AMG existed. The only car i would trade my CLS55 AMG for is a vantage which might be in the works

Thanks for the above comments.

I am officially hunting to track down a CLS55. The following points helped me make my decision.

1) CLS55 has more torque, I do a lot of inner city driving
2) CLS55 get's better gas mileage
3) I feel the CLS55 would be a better daily driver

When I first saw the 6 series in 2004 I distinctly remember saying "gawd that's ugly". I look at the M6 now and the looks have grown on me. Funny how 507hp can make a car look better in one's eyes. Kind of like an ugly girl with a great personality LOL.
