Moving on
I'll say that my CLS63 has been the best car I've ever owned and completely trouble free. I LOVED this car and enjoyed it every day I drove it. I am so glad I did it but its time for a new manufacturer. The RRS already has like 5 software bugs in the 2 hours I've driven it but it's a fun ride and looks SICK.
I'll post pix soon. And if anyone is interested in my sprintbooster, phone cradle, trunk nets, AMG license plate holder .... before I return the car on Wednesday, let me know. This will still be my primary car forum. I'll post pix of the new ride soon.
Cheers

btw, before you go dividing $7k by 36 and comparing that to the $50 I walked out for. Keep in mind, RR gave me $3500 towards the deal. They discounted the car another $4000. And I get a $30k tax break on the "Heavy Vehicle" in 2009. So the RR turns out to be a much better deal overall financially.
Too bad too, I left MB when the cars finally seemed to step into the 21st century. I have my fingers crossed though. If things work out I might still pick up a SL63 in the next couple of years.

that's $55K out of my pocket! LOL. Like I said, he was high. I was asking for $5K down and $1000/mo which is VERY REASONABLE!
that's $41K out of my pocket on a $64K car for 36 months. Consider 50% depreciation over 36 mo.
Anyway, like I said, hiiiiiigh.

I also have had trouble negotiating any kind of deal for my car. Unfortunately my next ride is likely an 2005 Caravan.. LOL
This situation kind of reminds me of the time I moved to Dallas (From the beach here in Orange County) and was so AMAZED at how much house I got for so little there compared to what I left behind in OC.......1/2 Acre, Pool, 3600 Sq Ft, amazing woodwork, brick construction, etc....
The only issue was..............Every day I woke up I was in still Dallas and NOT at the beach in OC......there is a reason some things cost more than others with cars just like with Real Estate. I was in Dallas for exactly 15 months, 12 days, 11 hours and 10 minutes.....and it felt like I was there forever.
I only hope for your sake that your lease on the RR does not create the same experience for you because you WILL be driving it for 3 years. There is NO WAY you will ever be able to get out of a RR lease early as those things go down faster than a $5 hooker (Again no offense intended) and you will be so upside down that the only thing you will be able to do is ride it out till the end and give it back to them when the lease terms out.
Now you will be driving your RR every day and hopefully not yearning for the MBZ that you really wanted........good news is that at least you still will be driving it in Southern CA so at least you got that going for you

Hope you got Speed dial on your new phone though cuz it will be just that much easier to call your new best friend ........... your service advisor at RR hopefully they have a good loaner program.
OK guys....gimme me at least 10 minutes to put my asbestos suit on before the "Flames" begin.....just remember this was written with tongue in cheek!!

First off, I didn't lease, I bought.
The car is essentially free due to incredible tax incentives given for owning a vehicle over 6000 lbs. 88% depreciation allowance in the first 4 years, and the remained in year 5 and 6. If after 6 years it's worth $20k I'll have made money on the deal.
It was actually the RR I wanted not the MB, The MB was cheaper on paper and I was considering it but decided on the RR when they wanted the same money. I loved my CLS63, but I have other priorities now and I can't be blowing $1700/mo on a lease and address those priorities without having to work harder (which I have no intention of doing), so a downgrade was in order. The E550 would have been a huge downgrade as far as I'm concerned but the RR, while still a downgrade from an AMG, at least brings some new things to the table. And you get a lot with the car. Everything is standard equipment (Keyless go, Nav, Heated seats, backup cam, bluetooth, ...)
As for the service, lol, although the CLS didn't give me much problems at all, my W211 was at the shop longer than any car I've ever known and it was leased new. The loaner program at the RR dealer is great and they have free scheduled maintenance where I bought it from.
And if at any point I feel I need an MB again I can always put in the extra hours and pick one up. Considering a last model year (06?) E55.
