Uneven Tire Wear (Picture)

Today I noticed my rear tires had less traction than usual so I took a look at the rears and they definately need to be replaced. The passenger rear tire however, had uneven wearing. Could this be a problem with the camber?

.
My car always gets uneven wear with insides going bald before the outsides. I think our cars have a slight negative camber by default and depending on how hard you drive one tire can wear out before another.

You just noticed a loss of traction now? That tire is shot. What are you going to replace it with?

My tires wear so badly (lowered with 20" wheels) that I've resorted to flipping my tires inside out ever few thousand miles. It cost less than $100 and can considerably increased the tire life you experience.

I just took a better picture and have both the driver and passenger side tires up now. Looks like it is in fact both tires....

I guess it isn't out of the ordinary then?

Haha, yeah both are looking pretty bad, but surprisingly it isn't really noticeable. I'm still getting fairly good traction at WOT. I have no idea what to replace them with.

That's interesting...I didn't even know it was possible to flip a tire inside out and use it.

Yeah it is perfectly normal, I hate that the outside looks like there is still a good amount of tread left while the inside has canvas hanging out. This makes it hard to tell unless you look at entire tire.

With directional tires you can have the tire dismounted from drivers side and remounted on passenger side to try to get a bit more life out the of tire. With tires that indicate outside and inside walls you cant really do anything but keep it the way it is.

Part of the price of having a performance vehicle I guess.

If the car is lowered you need to align again. Did you do the alignment after lowering?

My dealership told me that aligning after lowering would have no effect, I have no clue if thats true or false

You need to have it aligned, definitely not at the dealer though, ask around for a shop that will do a custom alignment and take the car there.
