will this work on my 2006 CLS55?

 

I think it should without a problem. The airbag is identical and the tiptronic functions should have the same pin connector.

I bought a CLS63 PP steering wheel last week but sadly, I haven't seen my new car yet. Once it arrives, I'll make a short DIY; it's basically (2) screws holding the airbag and the main bolt in the middle.

im hoping the paddles will work and that the actual steering wheel is thicker than the oem one.

 

DCT's price is good considering the item is brand new, OEM and it's limited to 2007/08 CLS/E63s with the 030 option... remember that MB changed the steering wheel in 09 with their facelifted 3 spoke version. Although there are many steering wheel options out there, this is a hard to come by item. I opted for it to keep it OEM and the paddles.

The sides with the alcantara are definitely thicker and more comfortable. I had a very similar one in my C32 and the feel is great.

 

In our experience this wheel will NOT fit AMG 55s
SL55 CLS55 CLK55 buttons' wire connectors jointed together then goes to a sucket on the column
AMG 63s each paddle has a wire connector then goes to a metal hub on the steering wheel!
We maybe wrong but that is what we learned so far!

is this one plug and play for 2007 E63?

 

have not tried to E63, but pretty straight forward for SL!
With the airbag used and shifter connectors, I think it is compatible!
The one we had has been sold!
