CLS55 OIL FILTER?

Am looking to change my oil myself and ordered in all the appropriate parts. The oil filter I received is a paper filter (i.e. no real structural integrity). I am concerned that the filter is awful flimsy for a car with the torque of a 55. I called the dealer and they said that the original oil filter had metal housing outside and metal mesh inside but all the filters they use now are paper and that I cannot even buy a metal housed filter anymore. What are you guys finding? Is this true? I just don't want to end up collapsing the filter and killing my engine. Any help is appreciated.

No current production Mercedes use filters with metal.

2006 CLS 55 AMG
I am going through the travails of an oil change (non dealer) dealer says that my car (CLS55AMG - 2006) has two drains and that the drain plugs must be replaced at each oil change. Anybody have any thoughts on that? I can only find one drain.

you don't need to replace the plugs, just the copper washers. as for the filter, the paper AMG filter is the original equipment. doesn't matter how much TORQUE your motor has, a filter is a filter.

98 QS Supra, 06 CLS55, Procharged SRT8 300c, 2JZ Foxbody mustang, 08 PSD F250, out of room.
There is one drain plug in front of the sway bar on the drivers side of the from sump on the oil pain, the other plug is in the rear oil pan sump (behind sway bar).

To reset the service indicator turn the key to the first click (make sure your dash is show the MPH screen) press your trip odometer reset button three times very quickly and you should see reset screen on your dash (pretty basic from there).

Hope this helps.

Helped beautifully. A little trial and error, but got it done! Thanks!
