Just bought 2006 CLS 55 030 package
Hello , All
Just joined the club and bought a used 2006 CLS 55amg 030 package 13,000miles from the original owner. I'm just beginning to learn the cars systems love the power & torgue. It was between 2009 or 2010 CTS-V I drove 2 CLS 55's and than drove the V. A Little back ground info my dad's has a 2009 CTS all wheel drive 300 hp performance model CTS nice car right . Drove the CLS 55 no comparison of course not just power , the quality of the interior the look stiffness of the body structure , the car that has made the new sedan trend. Drove a 2010 CTS-V $65,000 and with my gm discount 62,000 , the v is night and day in power from the 300hp CTS, but the quality is the same, interior the same , ride better . But it's not a Mercedes-benz the body is not as rigid , the seats and leather aren't has high quality etc , etc . I liked the V but just could spend 60,000 plus on a New Caddy , don't know where it would be re-sale value in a couple years . Yes , the v has more power , yes it's a little faster , but that's all relative .. You can make any car faster , so that's not a issue
Now I would like to know what's mod's should I do , to get more power , with out totally losing my warranty , What's hide able or easy to change back to stock ... Thanks I love the look , here in Michigan CTS's are a dime a dozen , This CLS turns head's like a Naked **** star ... Thanks badm

Congratulations. This was a fantastic choice in an automobile.
I would be careful with her , there are not many CLS 55's on this planet.
This car out of the box is plenty , modding it tastefully(cosmetic) may be wiser than getting into the engine.
Modifications are fairly cheap for this car and the path has been driven alot(engine mods)
A larger pulley and ECU tune would suffice to adding power. You can do just as well buying lighter wheels.
This car has a proven path for super speed just PM JikJak,
The CLS is going to look good for many many years, so many copycats.
Treat her well and be safe, have fun.

06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
Congrads and welcome to the club. I too had the same reaction after driving the CTS-V. It has great power and response but overall the CLS wins out especially at 150+MPH.
You can go with the Rentech ECU/Pulley upgrades until the warranty expires. Get an extended warranty before the original warranty ends. Then consider modding with headers. Good for about 75+HP.
BTW--can you share the price?

I totally agree
I do intend on lower her a bit what do you suggest ?
It just so happens that my back tires are just about bald or bald depends on your prospective , so I'm going to Milan Dragway next week or so to see what she'll do . Only got K&N filters everything else stock. I'm going to put new back tires on , their pirelli p-zero Rosso 285 30zr 19's on now , I'am going with a wider tire 295 30 zr 19 that will give a meaner look . Don't want to go to wide on these rims. badm
