Is Supercharger power loss not from HE pump?
I have a CLS55. The dealer said the pump wasn't throwing a code, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to throw a code?
I thought I had read somewhere where even if these things fail no code actually is shown.?
When I went to the track (auto not drag), it was clear that the supercharger was shutting off for about 50-75% of each lap. I would purposely have to take it easy around some areas to make sure it cooled down enough and hopefully get it to turn on for the straights.
Anyone with more experience know if the dealer was just dumb and didn't check it properly? Would switching to a cm30 just be a waste of time and money?
I'd still like the car to work properly out on the race track without it being overly heatsoaked for 75% of the track.

I love mechanics. I hate dealer repair reps. It's almost impossible to find one that actually even likes cars.
Will order up a Johnson CM30. Anyone know if the stock fitting is 16mm or 20mm?

Cm30 will install with no hitches. You can either wrap the pump in rubber and use the stock bracket or drill some holes and use the bracket that comes with the cm30. If hoses do not fit, you can use a smaller clamps and that should seal her tight. The Meziere pump is recommended over the Johnson.

My CLS is doing the same thing... When I get aggressive with the car the supercharger turns off after after only a few minutes. I'd really like to know what is the best pump to avoid this.

After doing some research, I've seen a lot of ppl go with the Johnson cm30. Obviously there may be better ones, but I think the Johnson will do, at least for myself.

*Update.. After reading this post I took my car into the dealership and sure enough my pump was bad along with a speed sensor ($1,350.00). I wonder how hard it is to run these cars with the pump not working? I drive my CLS very aggressively and the supercharger was turning off daily. Not good I would imagine, thoughts????
