Thank you for your reply. Well, what I and a helper did was do what you just described, but since I needed also to take out the key cylinder, we eventually took out the dash trims and center console. The process was very slow as we needed to make sure nothing will be broken. It was really a pain, taking the better part of a whole working day to do, but the reward is that I now know how to remove these things and putting them back together will be a piece of cake

. A few days from now I will be assembling it all back and I will take photos to share here. Maybe someone else needs to do what I just did and hopefully, my post will be able to serve as a rough guide.
