I traded my 07 black on black H2 for my benz and honestly - both are beautiful machines (given, different style/type) and I miss the hell out of my H2. I have to admit I'm guilty of blindly making fun of them years before I actually owned one but my experience was nothing but awesome. Also nobody who drives a 550hp benz can poke fun at someone else's 14mpg if gas is the complaint. Gas mileage is really the only common criticism and if someone's budget is that tight - they shouldn't be looking at a 65k truck.
MPC,
Beautiful truck. Mine barely fit in my garage w/ stock suspension and absolutely zero parking garages in LA

Sorry, that was actually pretty tasteless on my part. I made a poor assumption. Thanks for clarifying. I get a lot of judgmental feedback from tree huggers and the like so i must be hyper sensitive!
The total lift with the 40" tires is around 14" extra. It's roughly 34" off the ground.

a guy I know had a huge lift on a truck he used to have, and was telling me it was actually a pain to drive it, park it......people would constantly cut him off as if they didn't see the behemoth of the thing....
34'! damn I might need a step ladder to get in....although it might be more enjoyable via pogo stick....
the thing is a head turner no doubt
stay well

you have a collection of my dream cars haha
I'm especially loving that 997 (huge Porsche fan)
Just noticed your white GT-R on BBS. Funny story, it may or may not have been you but I saw this same exact car (white GT-R on BBS) driving down last week and I was straight gawking at it for 5 minutes lol. I love it.

My only complaints about the Humvee's are their massive weight and high bumper height relative to normal passenger cars that made me feel unsafe in my car. Similar complaints about all other SUV's that made me contemplate about getting a GL63 just to balance out what are out there on the road even though I really can't bring myself to be in the mood for a SUV.

Most cars would fit under mine anyway, so they are still safe. It gets driven around 40 miles a week, so odds are that most other drivers are safe.... unless my wife takes the wheel

Hmm...doesn't make me feel any safer. Still tons of other heavy high bumper SUV's around with crazy drivers behind the wheels. Maybe I should go ahead and drive a semi...maybe AMG should turn one of the MB semi's into an AMG so I can put it into my consideration.

That was my old setup. My new setup (roller cam, roller lifters, lighter timing chain, rejet/tune) should reflect another 80ish hp. I guess we'll see.

Yo Vic- why are you getting rid of the GTR? No fun? Lol, and I'm just curious but why didn't you get the track pack for your BS? (with the wing and extra shtuff)

New Dyno numbers! Not what I expected but definitely more drivable. My first dyno pull in Feb (see above dyno) was at 70 degrees. The results of a new roller cam/roller lifters/timing chain/plugs are as follows. Please keep in mind it was 110 degrees yesterday. I'll get it dynoed again when it's a more tolerable temp to see some more accurate numbers.

The CBS was an "on the ground" car so I took what I found. But either way I didnt want that car with the wing on the back--- doesnt seem to fit the car's lines IMHO. I got the options I wanted which was the exterior carbon fiber, black matte wheels, and few other inconsequential adds (Illum Sills, AMG Perf Media).

GTR is long in the tooth---- its a super performer but not super involving for me. Id rather drive the CBS or the 997TT.2- Time for a change.

Ha, and is it hard to choose what you want to drive everyday?

ahhh, I seee, and I understand your lack of feel from the GTR, I havent driven, but I do know that pretty much al the journalists out there say that its not involving... Oh, and whats AMG perf media? like, lap times on the command unit? instrument cluster?
Ha, and is it hard to choose what you want to drive everyday?

I basically just rotate cars with the P car getting the fewest miles. I like to keep the most expensive car down on miles.

Okay - so that's a security camera system for who's garage?!
Also, I had the privledge of driving a '10 GT-R (exhaust/tune/intake). Cockpit experience is awesome all around. For lack of better words, it was too race-car ish for me around the street. Gave me whiplash at every shift and felt every pebble in the road. Great track personality but I wouldn't own one for anything less than the track or just causing trouble around the street and I've got the cobra for that.

MB should just load the Perf Media software into every AMG. It will be nice to be able to see all those data. Similarly, it's nice to see all those data on the screen in the GTR.
