Small but annoying issues

Bought my 08 CLS63 in April with 42k miles. Now it has about 50k miles on it. In the time that I've had it, the window regulator has gone bad, needed to be replaced, the PVC pressure regulator had to be replaced, and now the purge valve needs to be replaced (just got check engine light).

Question is, are these things normal part of owning this car, or am I just hitting a bad run? I love the car, but $500+ in maintenance per month is not something I signed up for!

Can't even get to the mods yet because of all these small issues.

Thanks for your replies.

Your car is probably over 5 years old... very typical in a german car that these things will start to occur (not that I would know since I dont keep my cars that long or buy them that old) and its the engineering. The parts just inheritently will go bad. Thats why many a board member will tell potential buyers who "think" they are getting a steal to remember that there is so much more to these cars as they grow long in tooth. A warranty is almost a must with aged units.

Im sure there are few that have been very lucky and have higher mile AMG's that have been issue free but the law of averages just doesnt say it will happen.

Now a toyota is another story.

Maybe I am lucky. My 06 W211 has 90K miles and for the last 3.5 years only oil change, engine mounts change. My 2000 93K miles W210 E55 12 year old car only change tires, brakes and engine oil.

Mannion - I've got an 08 cls63 as well. So far I've been pretty lucky. 3 LEDs from the left tail light have gone out and my left rear door buttons (inner and outer) no longer work. Outside that - I think I've been pretty lucky. ::Knock on wood::

Wow, 07' CLS AMG here and no issues other than a rattle from the loose door trim (that is an easy fix) and a drooping headliner (which is also an easy fix).

No mechanical, electrical problems here.

OH, and my left side fog light is....fogged up...

Other than that, a paint restoration is needed for my car... too many swirly's in the paint... and chips in the front bumper before 16k miles.

Just fix the small things. It turns into a thing you like to do rather than just work.

Oh good call, Ammar. My passenger side headlight is fogged.. Have you heard any ways to fix that? I had the wet-sand detail guys take a look at it and they said it's on the inside. Does that mean I can just take a bulb out and let it... air out?

Ermmmm... Idk... I think you'd just need to clean the inside, nothing more, looks like dirt got in there somehow

It has a leak or open area- it will always fog up going forward. You cant just air it out or clean it... you need to find the hole and seal it or get a new assembly.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
What about putting a pack of dessicant, ie damp-rid in there for a while, and wait for a sunny dry day to remove the dessicant pack and seal it up?

Well I'm not sure it's humidity. I live in Phoenix. If I lived in Seattle it would be different but all things considered - I guess we'll see.
