Burnout question..
Burnout question..
Ok, So this may or may not be an extremely childish thing to do, but It was in a closed area, not on the streets, etc. Everyone has personal preference BUT....
Traction off, and did what you should do to perform a burnout.....All I got was a humping car... And yes, ill say it again, traction was off.
Is there something im missing here? Because I really dont see what I did wrong, and the car does donuts and all, a complete animal with traction odd, just does not do burnouts....
Im just confused.

I have not done any straight burn outs, but have done a lot of doughnuts.......... have not had any problem breaking the tires loose........I THINK I even broke them loose going about 35.....it was wet out and I could have sworn I was spinning........
do you hold the break a little while giving gas??
do you hold the break a little while giving gas??
I know if I do a big smokey burnout then take off - even with my TC off, the car will eventually start rocking from left to right at 40+mph as the computer grabs the back left and right rotors to gain some traction (even tho the TC is STILL off). Is that what you mean?

Wow, I thought the AMG vehicle wouldn't have this problem. My e550 does this also, seems like when it shifts into second gear doing a burnout, the rpm's drop down to almost idle and then the car goes through the whole powerband again in each gear. Dyno mode helps a little, but it still wants to fight me. To many electronics on these car now a days. I remember doing 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear burnouts in my 2000 clk430 like it was nothing and the car would just stay up in the R's the whole time, and that had more then 100 less HP then My current non amg E550..... crazy
If I'm not mistaken the Toyota union tended acceleration might have a hand in this as Mercedes recently said that the brakes have priority over the accelerator and I believe if both are pressed the engine cuts power too regardless of the ESP setting
It's easy to do. Stomp on the brake, I mean really stomp on the brake. Give it gas, and the RPM's will start to build, and slowly let off the brake (but not entirely). You'll want to find a balance of brakes/gas
Just checked back in on this thread, haven't been on in a while. But thanks for your replies, I'll definitely see which one works out and I'll let you know what happens.

For some reason some of the 05-06 E55s have trouble doing burn outs as well.. Car just bogs and nothing happens. I can spin the tires for days though on my 04
TC is preventing you from doing a burn out, even if it is off it still tries to control the rear. What i do is, TC off, floor it so that it does break traction, then get on the brakes to control it. it works. or dyno mode.
