2007 cls550

Hub dust cover broke HRE cap

Test fitting HRE S101's. Do you have to modify or replace the hub dust covers? Mine comes right through the wheel and snapped 3 of the tabs before I realized what was going on.

Ah, sorry to hear! Front wheels?

Thanks Nick. Yep, front wheels. I will be sending in my rear wheels for re-barreling once I decide what width I want them.

Were these wheels purchased second-hand, through us or a dealer? Any more info on the specs (order number?)

Yes, You just made them for him a month ago. They are the 20" s101s. The rears are still at Wheel Enhancement.

Ah, that's why. Well, as you may have already discovered, to get these wheels to bolt on your CLS550, you will need to make some modifications:

Please tell me more. No one mentioned the hub issue. Is this only a w219 issue? I proceeded to take a hammer and reshape the dust caps. They won't be a problem now and I had to careful not to beat them too much to rub against the inner bolt.

It might only be a w219 issue as these wheels were made specifically for his 2012/w218 CLS63 (curtailing around that car's options as well) so, as expected, there would be some issues bolting these onto your 2007 CLS550.
